I love the way some Spurs fans go from the start of the season claiming that they'll be City's closest challengers (HIAG) to then saying that they said 5th would be a decent season.
I’ve always thought that given the circumstances and disruption of this season, if we got top six that would be acceptable. If we get top four, great....
I don't understand all the fuss about United going out to Sevilla ... they have been great in Europe in recent times ... who can forget their obliteration of Liverpool in the Europa final? ... so now they have dry humped United .... obviously they haven't had it all their own way .... they were comfortably put out of the Champions League at the same stage last season by an English side ... and they were a better team then too
Exactly, Leicester didn't underestimate their opponents, every game is a cup final for the little teams and they push to their limits, knowing they won't be there next season. United need to drop that complacency. We took out Chelsea and Liverpool and probably developed a bit of arrogance that will be punished every time in Europe's elite competition.
It's not all gloom for United ... they have at least set a precedent for English clubs with similar aspirations ... win the Europa League to get into the elite competition ... Arsenal may benefit from similar tactics this season and we may be thinking the same next
