Didn't Newcastle play Liverpool in a cup final many years ago and get spanked 4-0.
I've just thought, the final I was thinking of was probably before you were even born.
Yeah it was it 74 we've lost about 4 times since including a 4-0 in the charity sheild.

Liverpool mate. Who was the other Liverpool player, use to go round chomping bits out of people's ears, so I suppose in a sense standards have improved.

A certain Alan Kennedy was playing for Newcastle back then, he eventually made a very wise move to go to Liverpool, and the rest as they say was history.
Also Malcolm McDonald was in that Toon team, but I only ever remember him for the 5 goals he scored for England, against Cyprus I think it was.
