We're naive to the extreme if we don't think several players have been on the phone to their agents for months trying to secure a summer move.

It is to be expected given how this season has gone, irrespective of our status next season.

The only thing not calculated is that many players seem to be labouring under the illusion that we'll miss them.

In a way, I would welcome barely escaping relegation if it meant :

1. those ponces with vaguely merc sentiment are gone

2. a squad rebuild akin to 1978-80 occurs

Staying up or relegated.

A lot of players need to be moved on this summer. At least 10 imo.

Then need to replace those players too.

Can’t see it happening as Spurs dawdle. But without a significant rebuild, it will be the same next season (if Spurs stay up)

I am really not interested in people who seem to want the worst scenario to exist among our players.
I see an injury ravaged squad doing their best to get us through this nightmare period.

Anyone in systems engineering knows that the TRUE
test of any system is when the operating env is
BAD and not "fair weather" .

For the money they are paid, players should be
willingly putting themselves thru the wringer for
90 mins, to be nowhere near relegation.

There are several in the squad for which this
is evidently not the case.

We'd be naive to think agents aren't doing their jobs all the time putting out feelers to see who's interested. Especially with the way this football club is run by the owners.

I've seen VDV plenty of times during the last few season's looking absolutely devastated after losing matches ( and so he should be!! ) That's the passion you want to see from a fella getting paid millions a year to play ball.

I think he's being honest in this instance.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see no paranoia in my post - this thread is called 'General match-thread' I have posted a link to a factual statement about our next match that other people may not have been aware of, I have made no comment about whether this is good or bad..Maybe the paranoia is looking back at you in the mirror....

Mickey Van outright rubbished the claim that one of the squad said they don't give a **** what happens as they're off in the summer anyway

Bissouma breathed a sigh of relief

Bissouma can do one as far as I am concerned, he has been one of the biggest disappointments at the club, he looked just what we needed when at Brighton but the pissing about with lateness and the hippy gas , the club should have kicked him into touch years ago

He's doing one anyway, as he's out of contract

The one thing that most people can agree Frank got right was exiling him to the Shadow Zone due to constantly turning up late to training...only to undermine himself by recalling him to the team, when Olusesi was right there

Don’t the club have an extension option?

Praying they don’t take it up

There were mentions of taking up the option prior to January (almost entirely from tabloids with the word "Sun" in their name), which would have made sense if we bundled him out the door on loan with an obligation - but since we didn't, we should just eat the loss and move on

He's reverted to the 3ATB nonsense.

Why managers are so pig-headedly fixated on particular systems will always be beyond me.

Solanke and Richarlison not in the squad. Bit strange.

Also strange that Danso and Souza don't make the squad after impressive performances at Anfield.

I guess this confirms what the first leg didn't: We're throwing the towel in on the CL and focusing on the PL.

Yeah hope they don’t think they can trigger it to get a fee for him in the summer.

Richie suspended, Solanke unwell. I assume Souza is not eleigible, Danso was feeling his toe on Sunday so maybe being saved for Sunday

Such a defensive lineup... Yes, I know the weekend is most important, but this is the most obvious 'surrender' I can ever remember.
Had a feeling that if we'd have taken a more positive attitude into the game and maybe get an early goal then we might get something from it.
On the basis of this team I don't think I'll bother watching.
