The ‘evidence’ for me is the sheer amount of injuries.

Apparently Kudus has gone against club advice with his latest injury recovery and didn’t Romero use Argentina medical staff instead of Spurs too?

The whole department needs overhauling by the sounds of it. The injuries in the last few seasons have cost Spurs massively.
But we've already overhauled it massively twice in the last two summers. Including sacking the guy who had been running it for many years after the first spate of injuries.

Do they? Are you qualified to make such a judgement? ACL injuries have been on the increase everywhere in recent years. While our outcome is well above average it doesn't look significantly worse than expected as far as I can see.

If you were on the Board how would you choose the medical team and monitor their performance? Both these things are going to be harder than picking a coach as there won't be much data.

There is a growing number of former players who are raising concerns. They will all have had extensive experience working with elite level physios and medical staff. They are all saying that this situation isn't normal.

New book from the physio department, just out:

We've already hired about six new senior staff over 2 years. Perhaps the mistake was sacking the experienced guy after the initial spate of injuries.

Future Spurs player right there

Historically there has been an ACL injury about every 45 matches so that makes it a 1000-1 shot for an individual player. So the same player getting one two matches in a row is about a million to one chance.
But what has happened to us this season is more like a twenty to one chance....so are you still sure it's not random....

It could all be completely random, of course.

But there is no question that injuries have played a major role in our historically poor league performances last season and this. And if relegation will result in a loss of circa £270m in revenue, it's worth leaving no stone unturned and assuming that luck plays no role.

Who has magically been relatively injury free since leaving Spurs.
He had corrective hamstring surgery while he was still on our books, IIRC when his contract was starting to wind down

Which mainly begs the question why he didn't have this surgery a year or two earlier, instead we kept patching him up and sending him out again and the issues repeated (apart from one time where the non-problem hamstring went instead)

Read a stat earlier, apparently, since 2023, the longest spurs have gone without a new injury is 2 weeks.

Solanke out for the season and most of the summer.

Hamstring.

Brings his total number of missed games to 52 since joining.

Wish him a speedy recovery, obviously.

But is it just me or is every injury just a bit “meh” now? I mean, not only are we used to the same news every week pretty much, and our squad is totally decimated, despite this, part of me is still like “will we miss that player?” Probably not, or no. <laugh>

I'm the same apart from Xavi tbh...with the rest it's a case of their replacement can't do any worse.

I don't see the issue with Xavi as a player like some fans seems to.

People forget that this is his first season in the self proclaimed 'best league in the world'. Just because we have been mega **** collectively shouldn't result in us forgetting that fact. If, like some fans think he is too lightweight etc etc then you can't expect much from him anyway. However if he joined a club with a squad built with intent then as a first season his output wouldn't be deemed to be so bad this season. We don't have a good squad so some fans expect him to pull rabbits out of hats or they are disappointed.

He's the only ACM, rest are crocked, the club should have done their job in January. It all comes down to the owners for me.

Think it's a bit unfair that people expect Xavi to be playing like he's a seasoned Premier League player. He cost a lot less than Wirtz and has had a similar impact.

This is a club created problem...Xavi has been progressing fine considering the **** show of a club he joined.

The biggest issue for Xavi is the midfield behind him isn't really equipped to play balls into space right in front of him, as there's a lot of ball carriers and very little else

His chance against Wolves which he put over the bar sums it up: while there was some nice triangles between Bentancur and Gallagher, it was Porro who played the ball into space for him to run onto
