I wonder if the FA would have taken the same view had it been a player from the 'top four' - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38385231
I asked several other football fans the question yesterday and NOT one of them think it was a red card offence.
Hence my post earlier.Knocked off his feet, still got a foot on the ground, and got the ball first. Never a red.

In which case, the longer we remain 'under the radar' in the lower leagues, he better.IMO, they feel they're more important than the players and they're ruining the game.

As someone said to me yesterday - the only consistent thing about refereeing is their inconsistency!!!

At least we avoid the scrutiny of the worst refs![]()

Except for Simon Hooper! A ref I love to hate![]()

Agreed. That Eddie Ilderton was also a twat for his anticsI don't like Terry Ilderton either, I never forget!
That was the worst case of 'miscarriage of justice' that I've seen and as I said in my original post on the topic, I wonder what decision the FA would have reached had it been a player from one of the 'top 4' clubs??There are some big egos in their ranks. It's a tough job, though, and they need more help. The instant replay should help, but it didn't change their minds about the Vardy red card.

The 'instant replay' got mixed reaction at the club world cup final - http://www.skysports.com/football/n...referee-in-club-world-cup-semi-final-in-japan
I saw another report that it was well recieved.
