England U21s v Portugal U21s q-final, Max in. When does the final take place? After the season starfs? Crazy.
Farke announced at Leeds. He should (?) be able to take them straight back up and get another shot at the PL. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/66088120
I got the impression earlier this week that Dean Smith was pencilled in for this. Very sad looking recent C.V. Deano.
Going to be interesting to see how much time Farke gets to mould the squad. A season like his first with us and I think he'll be gone by Christmas. The existing Leeds squad is built for a high-pressing, transitional game - which isn't exactly Farkeball. Could be teething problems.
Leeds has thinned the squad a bit but haven't brought in any new players. I don't know if the 49er's sale has gone thru but DF should have enough spending power if he can recruit wisely. They haven't done much of anything as far as ins and outs, so far. No doubt the club were waiting for the sale to 49ers to go thru to get a new coach and let him make changes to the team. They just couldn't wait any longer. The sale is still pending afaik. edit: I thought I had deleted the first reply.
Harry Toffolo: Nottingham Forest defender charged by FA over breaching betting rules 375 times - BBC Sport Potentially sounds similar to Toney's. Presume there would be no comeback on City as he was our player at the time?
I can't imagine there would be, I don't think Brentford have been directly punished for Toney's offence, beyond losing their star striker for 8 months? Even in a scenario where NCFC were aware of his betting, he was released at the end of a season rather than being sold on, so it's not like NCFC hid information from a buyer. I guess the greater concern from an NCFC perspective is whether it speaks to a wider culture within the club at the time, or whether the club's safeguarding, etc was up to scratch. He spent an awful lot of time out on loan in the years in question, so there's plenty of motivations he could have had to place bets.
So much wrong with that, Teemu made it look a training ground drill. I don't think he'll have ever had that much time and space to pick a finish in his whole career?
If that defending is typical, Teemu's decision to choose Minnesota seems based on personal (and perhaps financial) factors rather than footballing ones. He stated openly in a recent interview that he didn't enjoy last season. For me, it's really sad that his joy for the game seems to have been eroded over the last two seasons, and especially the fourteen months under Smith. IMO, even if he has regressed a little, he could still do a job at a higher level than the MLS.
