Bolton Wanderers are delighted to officially announce a new five-year stadium naming rights deal with Bolton-based building product manufacturer, Toughsheet," the club said in a statement announcing the news. "From the 1st July 2023, the stadium will be renamed the Toughsheet Community Stadium." What the ****
Frank Lampard says he will "focus on the job in hand" after being named Chelsea's caretaker manager, rather than trying to land the role full-time. Lampard has completed a surprise return to Chelsea for the rest of the season, replacing the sacked Graham Potter. The club say Lampard will take charge while they carry out an "exhaustive process" to find a permanent boss. "I want to do the best possible role I can and after that we will see what happens," the 44-year-old said. "I am not getting anywhere ahead of myself." Don't you just love Chelsea
He's scored more than 8 clubs! Interestingly if you look at Leicester they have scored a lot, but conceded lots in their first season without Schmeichel
Just seen on Sky sports news that " Lampard is in danger of spoiling his managerial reputation". What (positive) reputation?
Can't fathom this at all? Picture is of the Fiveways pub up near the UEA in Norwich - WTF has that got to do with Luton?? Or am I missing something obvious?
Kings Lynn playoff tickets have gone on general release if anybody wants to go to their match on the 7th
Series of posts in response to an article in The Athletic today about which EPL team has most over-performed this season: Poster A: “I mean, it wouldn't create anything even resembling an argument if loads of football fans weren't complete nutters.” Poster B: “I don't know [about that]. I’m not _well_ educated in social psychology. But I'm confident there's more to it than football fans being 'nutters'. The tribalism/allegiance means fans argue for their team even for no tangible reward. This behaviour goes beyond sport.” Poster C: “I'm a qualified social psychologist. I can confirm that "nutters" is the correct medical term.” No comment.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has broken the record for most goals in a Premier League season. The Norwegian scored his 35th league goal of the campaign against West Ham to move past Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole's previous best of 34. Haaland had already set a record for a 38-game season, beating Mohamed Salah's 32 goals for Liverpool in 2017-18. "It's a special night and a special moment. I'm really happy and proud," Haaland told Sky Sports. The 22-year-old has another five games to add to his tally. "It feels amazing and I'm really happy and I'm also happy for the three points," he told BBC Match of the Day. "In the end that's what matters and I'm happy. This guy is some footballer.
Anyone watching the Leeds v Newcastle match? A very light touch in the hand of Firpo - handball. However, his hand is only in the position it is because as he jumps he is impeded which throws his balance backward. Too often these instances are given as penalties rather than fouls in my opinion - we’ve certainly ou seen plenty against us
Ref also can’t have been that convinced in his decision as he decided not to yellow card the player, which would have been his second of the game and resulted in a sending off. Now Leeds have equalised
