Norwich players in fancy dress... Not sure what Stiepermann has come as? More concerning is Cantwell's left foot. Let's hope that's part of the costume <yikes>

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, linked with Manchester United and Arsenal, would have to repay his £12.5m pay-off if he takes another Premier League job this season. (Sunday Express)

The tragic news regarding Benik Afobe's daughter show just how unimportant football is.

    RIP little angel <rose>

I find statements like this a little odd. Every waking day you have a loved one is great (Though we all take these things for granted) and a loss like his is tragic, but does it really have anything to do with football? Had Benik been a plasterer, would plastering be unimportant? or is it just football?

It may come across as callous I'm sure, but there are babies everywhere including the UK dying all the time, a very public instance can give us all pause to reflect but unless someone within your own imediate circle loses someone or is lost. Really it's business as usual and with that yes football is important to us all. If it isn't why on earth do we spend so much time on here?

RIP little Afobe a tragic loss so young

    Bah!

I agree. Such things are sadly the nature of life. But people will always rally around singular public examples of perceived tragedy as its easier than considering how regular and mundane such events are across society all the time.

Its an act of shared catharsis.

I find a certain contradictoriness in the idea that expression can appropriately be given to the truly heartfelt by public declamation on any form of social media.

    Yep, that's a tough game :emoticon-0107-sweat

I would have been a little more confident if it was at CR

I'm guessing his refusal to rule out a move to Arsenal point blank was probably just a bargaining chip in negotiations

A stat from Opta, quoted on the BBC website:

Man City have scored 500 goals in 199 games in all competitions since Pep Guardiola took over, which is 95 more than any other English team <yikes>

Correction: make that 501 and 96, they've just added a fourth against Zagreb .......
