I guess you've got to give the others a chance to impress too, and work on a plan B. Rashford the standout player so far, but Rose and Arnold have put in a good account of themselves. Defensively there's not been a test though.
I'm not sure this idea of "we're playing an African and Central American side in the group, better have a friendly against an African and Central American side to prepare" theory holds much water. I can't see anyone saying "We're in a group with Spain, best have a friendly against Wales..." Sure similar tests make sense, but for example Nigeria played 5-2-3, whilst Tunisia have a settled 4-2-3-1.
"Friendly" games are allways a waste of time and effort. They prove nothing.More is gained on the training field. Nothing can prepare a team except competative games. We will see how good we are when the "fat lady sings" PS Are we having a World Cup Thread?
Rodrygo Goes, who plays for Santos, is being chased by Real Madrid and Barcelona. The seventeen year old has a release clause of £44 M How can a 17 year old be worth that much money?
I guess ncgandy and KIO will be drinking in the Railway Tavern in Dereham from next Thursday. The landlord has built a grandstand to hold up to 500 people to watch the World Cup. If he can get KIO there, it will pay for itself in one day. Not that KIO drinks a lot
Always the victim I have just been told I may have only 3 months to live I really don't have time for your outbursts
Getting back to Football related topics, this is an excellent article on how money has ruined football - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...ill-soon-burst-and-the-vultures-are-circling/ And will continue to do so!!! Edit - some really good comments following the article as well, with some from Villa fans
Looks like Villa are deep in the mire and Tony is looking to sell some/all of the club for quite a wedge (figures vary depending on which source you read). Basically, he gambled on getting promoted this season and ss many gamblers discover to their cost, he lost the gamble. Whilst several on here bemoan D&M etc (myself included), I don't believe that we will ever be as deeply in debt as Villa find themselves. I feel sorry for their fans (NOT the 'plastics' who suddenly jumped at the chance of a day out at Wembley!!!) and not knowing what the future holds. Edit - I wonder what our accounts look like when they're released.
There are some on here who think our published accounts are fictitious which is a bit silly to think independent auditors would risk their livelihood on publicly breaking the law.
Yes Dave, I know that; but I do wonder where some of the cash goes (other than Naismith's EXORBITANT wages!!) and I'm sure it's all above board.
Oh. I’m sorry if I “played the victim card”. That’s out of order. Imagine playing that card. And saying something that’s make you look like a victim so people can’t reply to it. I agree, that’s out of order.
