Why is Ronaldo always being strongly linked, that he will be sold by Madrid if they can recoup the money they spent to get him? He is winning them games, and trophy's pretty much single handed at times. He is still breaking all kinds of records each season. It's not like he can't do it anymore. He's a player who can win you the league on his own. Is it all just rubbish? If so why has there been such strong rumors every single day for about 2 seasons?

A Champions League winner as a player with Borussia Dortmund, Lambert has also spoken of his confidence in meeting the club’s targets: “I would like to thank the owners and board of directors for giving me the opportunity to manage such a fantastic club. Blackburn Rovers is a club with superb support and fine traditions, being a founding member of both the Football League and the Premier League. After a short period out of the game, I feel refreshed and I am really looking forward to the challenge ahead.”

I'm with KIO - I'd love to Villa finally fall through the trapdoor. The Lambert thing still rankles but more importantly if they do it enhances our chances of staying up. I really hope we give them an absolute pasting on the 28th December as we have not fared so well against them recently.

He has to say that, it's a standard new managers catchphrase you have to trot out.

For me I hold no malice to Lambert and the reasons I wish relegation upon Villa are two fold; It's one less spot for us to fill and more importantly one of my best friends from Uni days is a Villa fan so it would be bloody marvellous to see them go down and us stay up, so I can give him some proper abuse!

Bah!

It's strange, but Madrid fans never seem to have really accepted CR. There's always been a little bit of ill feeling. From what I've heard, CR leaving seems to be a mutual thing between him and the club. He wants to go somewhere new and break more records and they want to make money on him before he starts to decline.

Hmmmm...I see...Kind of the Jose factor. Want's to win it all in the best leagues around the world. Spose that makes sense. Surely only PSG or Man City could afford him!

PSG is a likely place he'll go. Theres a lot of talk that he'll head back to United as well. As you say though, only a few teams around the world could afford his price tag and wages.

Cant see him back at United. I think PSG. I read Messi wants a go in the Prem, but would want £600,000 a week.....Ridiculous.

Yes, I read that as well and thought how many season tickets at the likes of Arsenal would be needed to pay just ONE weeks wages!!!!

Ryan Mason now called up. Again not much football, but what does that matter when he's from Spurs! I looked good last season, but after his injury, he's not played all that much.

This picking players based on merit has totally dissolved to nothing. It was a sham anyway, now I don't think there aren't any strands Roy can hang on to, to claim that to be his ethos. I'm not going to watch the France game. This time I mean it. It's just not enjoyable, hasn't been for years.

Also, if I don't watch a game, we will probably play really well and win.
