    By my amateur calculations, Ryan Bertrand is the sixth Southampton player to make his full international debut for England in the last two years and the ninth from all nations (assuming Fonte has started for Portugal)

    It may interest the odd person's trivia bone that Southampton Leisure Holding Ltd, the company that went into administration, and thereby dragged down Southampton FC with it, was formally placed in Creditors' Voluntary Liquidation on 22 February 2010 and went out of existence. Just over a month later, Southampton FC was at Wembley and winning the JP Football League Trophy. Nice irony that.

    So Norway beat Thailand 4-0 in a very one sided game. Ivory Coast play Germany today in what will no doubt be an equally one sided game.

    The German ladies look significantly bigger than the Cote d Ivorie team. The German gk is very manly.

    I hope it doesn't get to 8.....

    Ivory Coast didn't look that bad considering who they were playing and who they are, but they collapsed when the 3rd goal came in.
