The Reform London Mayoral Candidate, Laurence Fox, has thrown his party endorsement to Reform. I look forward to Nigel Farage rejecting the endorsement of a man who burned pride flags with glee and referred to us as "groomers" and "child mutilators".

My previous response still applies, you only seem to be reading half of it.

Is there anywhere where this is a thing?

Some countries have an LVT but only at a low rate since it isn’t a complete replacement for other taxes. Think Denmark’s highest LVT rate is 3.4%.

To make it a viable replacement for all other property taxes like inheritance, stamp duty etc. plus other taxes like income, it would have to be a higher rate.

While it's nice you think that a party led by Nigel Farage would somehow be an ally to LGBTQ causes, unfortunately I'll signpost you back to my original statement which is that it's not necessarily the politician or the party, it's the climate that populist parties stochastically create which is often the greater danger.

So far, I've seen the avatar of **** that is Andrew Bridgen, the words "prevent woke ideology" and "stop teaching about transgenderism in schools".

Yeah, so Reform getting in would put people like myself in rather a lot of danger. People like me, my trans and LGBQ+ friends and relatives, we don't tend to last in a far right society. Us existing is apparently a bit of a problem for that particular section of the public and teenagers learning we exist is apparently the sky falling in on our ****ing heads. I've already heard the words "against the wall" from some of the supposed Reform lot.

That's the problem with extremist politics, it isn't the politicians and their ideas you necessarily need to worry about, it's the environment they nurture through stochastic means. Look at what that rapist convicted felon did as President of the USA.

You're already in danger if you are telling kids about gay and trans type things, fortunately not so much in this area yet but you have colleagues in other parts of the country who have had to go into hiding for years just for trying to follow the national ciriculum.

The Bible, which all Abrahamic religions base their teachings on, explicitly states that homosexuality is forbidden as dictated by God on several occasions. And while the local vicar isn't going to have me crucified, he isn't very likely to step in and speak up against those that would and that's just as bad.

As for the Trump bit, I know you didn't, it was Trump that claimed that in his infinite wisdom/bullshit.

It isn’t as bad as someone who would actually throw you off a cliff. I remember sitting between Ken Livingstone and a Superintendent from the Met as guest of honour on a stage a man who had said that all homosexuals should be thrown off a cliff and Jews killed wherever they were. Don’t expect much help there.

I have no idea what that means. Kids know gay people exist, people know this right?

If people think it's bad under the Tories (and it is) it's absolutely nothing compared to what's coming with labour
At least last time you could get to see a dentist , Doctor the next day and into hospital pretty quickly .
The schools where all re built and hospital buildings drastically improved..
But if that counts for nothing then fair enough .

And I'll point you back to my previous replies, and leave it there as it's just going round in circles.

The new Government is going to be very lucky though and should have a reasonable honeymoon and goodwill period as they won't have Brexit, a global pandemic or a new sudden war in Europe to deal with, interest rates will fall and growth will return, what can possibly go wrong?

And how many of those famous people who said that they would leave the country if we voted Brexit did so? Or those who said they would leave the USA if Trump won?Can you think of any?
That was defensive. I simply asked the question, as I think it’s a bit of a funny general election tradition.

p.s. I’m not a labour supporter and won’t be voting for them, so not suggesting any bias at all.

Oooh ohh. I'll have a go.

Trump wins in November. He pulls out of NATO, Russia goes harder on Ukraine and annexes more of it before going after the states of Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia and Estonia. Belarus put up no opposition a la Austria in WW2. Everybody is outraged but doesn't dare attack militarily as Russia threatens nuclear war with anybody who tries to stop it, backed by China, Syria, Iran and China. India sides with Russia, putting the UK in an awkward position. Without the cover of the USA, NATO decides it needs to act and does so, instigating a battle for central Europe which culminates in another large conflict.

Oh, you mean here in the UK. Trans people become more "othered" and their rights zeroed, Israel's hold over the Labour party intensifies which increases pressure on pro Palestinian protests and aid to Palestinian civilians. Everybody has to pay a bit more tax and is royally knobbed off about it.

Hang on, are you saying that you remember sitting on a stage between Ken Livingstone and a Met superintendent as a guest of honour, when a man shouted out that all homosexuals should be thrown of a cliff and then you replied 'dont expect much help there'?

You choose your leaders and place your trust
As their lies wash you down and their promises rust
You'll see kidney machines replaced by rockets and guns
And the public wants what the public gets
But I don't get what this society wants

Leaders are not chosen by us (Those casting their vote)

Wasn’t defensive. Just showing that celebs come out with a load of crap for show and don’t carry out their threats/ promises.
