Corbyn's initial media appearances today could be politely described as inauspicious. Others might prefer the word krap.

I can't see the lib dems making up ground. Tort party is united and their only threat is a few straglers to UKIP. Think the "lost labour" will either opt out of voting or go for a token party.

Reckon the polling numbers will be low too. Need an overs/unders bet for this.

It will be interesting to see the Tories stance on Brexit in London, if they play hardball they will risk votes going to the LibDems, who will be sweeping up dissatisfied Labour supporters & looking to pick up seats. If they soften the message, will they lose votes to UKIP, thus letting the LibDems in via the back door. Nationally a good political move to go for an election with Corbyn at the Labour helm, London may be a little different.

Incidentally, do you think that calling this election was an act of statesmanship, or a political manoeuvre to make sure that her opponent would be Jeremy Corbyn?

At the end of the day the PM is a politician, and yesterday's ComRes poll had her 21 points ahead.

It's Labours problem now - they are offering the people an unelectable scarecrow as PM.

Last week's poll in the Standard had them only 6 points behind, excellent for London

It's Labour's problem, and the country's as well. A one-party state is not desirable.

It's not too late for them to change leader.

The Owen Smith debacle shows that any leadership challenge strengthens his position.I'm not even convinced that he'll stand down after the election. His disciples actually believe he's going to win.

The Conservative Party by a landslide. Labour are unelectable with Corbyn in charge.

Corbyn running the country would be the schoolyard equivalent of actively seeking out bullies to give them your lunch money, before popping if to the loo and flushing your own head down the toilet.

That opinion poll showing the huge Tory lead was a sample of people who weren't expecting to get a vote for about another 3 years.
    It's practically worthless now.
But there really isn't much credible opposition.

Labour are a basket case inner London party. Without their northern heartlands they are finished.
Lib Dems? anti-democrats. Got a cheek running at all.
UKIP? total disarray. I'd vote for them again if Nigel comes out of retirement again. He is top entertainment.
    Greens? Give me a break.

May will probably come in with a 100 seat majority or something like that.
Libs will bag 30 or 40 seats in Euro Disneyland. Possibly more if Corbyn turns on the charm like only he can.
If Labour melt down completely the Tories & Libs will share the spoils, Maybe Labour will be reduced to below 100 seats.

It's going to be a daft election, let's enjoy it and get it over with so we can get on with Brexit, and sticking it up the EU.

Me and nick never agree on politics - but this is it. It also makes the argument that she wasn't elected redundant.

Clever, but predictable move. And you can't blame the Tories.

Absolutely not. Any decent politician would do the same. All that pious drivel when the announcement was made was so cringeworthy. The fact that she will win by a landslide should not obscure that it's because there is no opposition. Labour's left-wing clique has a lot to answer for

Agree 100%. The result will have no bearing on May as a PM. It's an "ever the opportunist" situation.

This will be the best thing for Labour in the long run.

As long as they avoid humiliation, and Corbyn goes voluntarily.
