Back on the trees, as mentioned earlier, you can cut anything overhanging your property so long as you make sure the owner of the trees has what you have cut off returned to them or offered to be returned to them.
If the trees are overhanging by that much and you do what is legally right to do, then that might cause the trees to be too unstable and the school might therefor have to remove them on safety grounds?
