Any tree surgeons on here?

Or anybody go any idea how much it would cost to cut down a couple of trees, roughly 50ft high each.

Depends on the type and state of the trees Tel. A days work for 1 guy and a labourer plus removal.

£600-ish? I wouldn't want to pay more.

****ing hell.

The trees are massive, 3 days graft at least I'd say.

I bet they make a fortune as well, chopping the logs up and selling them.

Not sure on price but you'll need felling permission permit.
You can't just fell a tree if you feel like it.

Years ago my next door neighbour cut down a large beautiful old tree in his back garden and painted the stump white, that was it! What a berk. He got heavily fined I understand. He's dead now. RIP

You'll need to contact your local council first mate otherwise you could end up in a lot of ****.

Oh I'll definitely get into trouble mate, the trees are not mine.

They belong to a school.

They're saying they have no obligation to cut them down for daylight reasons, It's basically 90% in my garden so I'm asking them if I can have at least one of the two trees cut down, the one closest to my house, they said at my cost it'll be fine but if I want them to do it, I'll have to ask in writing and it's probably gonna be rejected.

If they're going structurally affect your property best you get legal advice on your options. If they're overhanging your property you can trim your side.

If they have TPO's on them you'll need to get the council out. But you'll struggle to get them removed.

two 50ft trees? Way more than a day's a work. More two days per tree. Round £500 a day I reckon it will cost him 2k.

I had 4 pines removed in an afternoon by 3 lads. They were 10-12 foot higher than my house. Whats that, about 30ft plus the 10-12ft? 40ft-ish.

£530 it cost me. The £30 was a tip.

It's bad enough when they are yours, I wanted a kitchen extension a few years ago and submitted my plans to the council. The builder told me I had to fell our huge fir tree as its roots could disturb the foundations in later years. I agreed and 2 lads came round to sort it out. Within an hour the council were round as my neighbour over the back fence complained that he was losing his privacy. What a carry on it was, I was advised to come to some sort of financial agreement with my neighbour to allow me to pull down my tree!?
I eventually got the all clear to have the tree removed (cash free) when I proved that his conservatory was in fact a storage room full of **** and that he never ever sat in it as there wasn't even seating in there.
That sort of **** boils my piss <steam>
