Seems an odd move. Goes against the signals coming out of Germany. It looks more like a provocation to unsettle an already unstable UK government. Smacks of getting involved in domestic politics which goes against EU doctrine. ****ing politicians. Unelected ones at that! If parliament had some backbone they'd react with anger, tell them to shove it, and stick to their own programme. May's weak at the minute so this could be the moment for her to galvanize some support and ignore THE ultimatum. Somehow I think it unlikely though.
Also, we can refuse to pay a penny. They could try and sue us of course but that would prove difficult given we don't have to answer to any court.
EU targeting a weak government. Good negotiating/bluff to be honest. I highly doubt we will leave properly anyway.
I asked my wife to draw a chameleons head from memory and this was what she came up with, I was hoping it'd be funny and I was killing myself laughing at it
Well I experienced something today that not too many on here have done recently. A home win! Had to drop down a division to do it though.
I haven't seen it but everybody who has says the same. Shame to go out that way they deserved to win just going off what I saw today.
Complete howler by the ref mate. That has ultimately knocked Northern Ireland out. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Anyone read any Bernard Cornwell? Been reading the Warlord Chronicles and it's top stuff. He also wrote the Sharpe books, bet they're good too.
Yeah I’ve read some of his stuff, the last Kingdom series specifically boy the one you’re on with. Really good I thought, nice easy reading and the main character is from up this way which gives a sort of loose connection. Never got round to finishing them. Need a good holiday to do it i reckon.
Yeah I know what you mean about where they're set, the majority of the characters have a very northern mindset. I've been really enjoying them, I used to love the stories of King Arthur as a kid but these throw all the fairy tale stuff out of the window and give you the gritty and raw version. It was optioned in 2015 to be made in partnership with HBO, it'd make a cracking tv show I reckon.
Think the BBC made a series about the one I’ve read half of but I’d begrudge finding out what happens without reading them. There’s also a nice overlap in the early books with the TV show Vikings which I’ve watched the first few series of.
