It's very difficult to drive around at 20mph...

It certainly is, which helps greatly with...

...which is hardly residential. I got done twice by a mobile speed camera van in the space of half an hour, first in one direction and then the other doing 24mph and 28mph. Resulted in a speed awareness course for the first ( which costs about £90) and 3 points and a fine for the second. Loads of people caught.

There's the crux. It's a money making hustle and nothing to do with safety.

Those f#@#@×# ba$+@#$ are trying to rob everyone off the roads as well as killing businesses off more !
The sooner those champagne socialist Marxist cnuts are out the better. and the sheep that only vote Labour because their grandfather's did back in the days when Labour was for the working man that are long gone need to give their heads a wobble !
Not much choice elsewhere as the conservatives don't conserve anything and just continue the invasion after Blair's, And other **** we don't want.
The libs and greens are a joke ! So a protest vote for none of the above would hurt them if our votes counted for anything anymore, now international vote rigging is in fashion !

Some great penalty shoot-outs in the women's world cup. Sweden/USA decided by goal-line technology when the USA keeper got a hand on it and clawed it away at the second attempt. VAR concluded the ball was over the line by 2mm.

This morning, England beat Nigeria on penalties. Three of the first four taken went over the bar or wide before England put three in the top corners. (Nigeria deserved to/should have won just to show I'm not biased <whistle>)

Lauren James sent off for deliberately treading on an opponent's back when she was on the ground <yikes>

I wondered about this... I don't watch hardly any women's football, so is it going the same way as the men's has, as regards diving and cheating or are they better behaved? Being ladies an' all

The games are much more 'honest'. The standard at the women's world cup is very high. There's been some real upsets already with Germany, Brazil and Canada failing to get out of their groups and the USA went yesterday in the round of 16 to Sweden. Jamaica (yes, Jamaica) drew with France and Brazil to get out of their group and eliminate Brazil.

Lauren James ( sister of Chelsea's Rhys James) was outstanding in England's 6-1 demolition of China but today against Nigeria she was man-marked out of the game, or woman-marked I suppose. The sending off was more out of frustration than anything. Although deliberate it wasn't really malicious. VAR sees everything as it behind the ref's back!

Was reading an article about nuclear fusion as being the holy grail of energy production in the not-too-distant future. Tries to replicate the process in a star. It doesn't involve fossil fuels and there are no dangerous (presumably radioactive) by-products. The Americans have just successfully done a second test in California getting more energy out than they put in.

I was recently walking part of the Oxford Greenbelt Way and came across "Culham Science Centre", a high security establishment with perimeter fences, CCTV etc. Apparently, they are also attempting nuclear fusion there. It has its own electricity transmission line due to the power required to conduct experiments.
