Guy Gibson's black labadour who was also 617 squadrons mascot, was run over and killed on the eve of the Dambusters raid. He was buried at the base.

I haven't read any of it but why resign? No politician will resign and they do far worse. Apologise (if you must) and move on. Anyone that doesn't like it - tell them where to go (and don't apologise!)
