Sorry to hear , I'm afraid we're being forced down the route of on line banking , less banks less staff less opportunities to rectify mistakes or to simple ask a human being.

Went extreme danger sporting to a pub for lunch today (I had a 50% off code and I'm a frugal fellow)... anyway... we don't have the Covid app to scan on entry but most places we give our details manually - they didn't ask for them though. Lady on entry (not in the way you're thinking) said we needed to have the Ember Inns' pub app to be able to order any food or drink and pay o_O I asked what if you don't have a smartphone? She said that's the direction they're going in! A lot of their customers are elderly from what I've noticed, having been there a few times, so they'll be refused entry

Downloaded the bloody app and tried ordering. You guessed it - it fukked right up. Crashed and asked if I wanted to start again  A few other tables also couldn't get the app to work <doh> So the server ended up taking everybody's orders manually <laugh>

Whilst I understand the pub trying to save money in these uncertain times, I also think this is an excellent excuse to go "app based" and reduce staff numbers. Welcome to the future. You'd think with massive over population they should at least try and save existing jobs.

I'm afraid and I don't think I'm alone but what we're seeing and experiencing now is the new order of how our lives are going to be , as you say reduce the work force by utilising the latest technology has always existed but this past year has seen an upsurge in technology which is rapidly becoming the master
