Had an email from Amazon this morning.... "Starting February 5, Prime Video movies and TV shows will include limited advertisements." ..... "We will also offer a new ad-free option for an additional £2.99 per month" Absolutely cnuts I will not be renewing this year.
I've just had a thought... it depends how they implement this but I should be able to block the relevant ad serving URLs on my router, like I do with my Samsung TV trying to shove ads in the menu bar I'm still cancelling though
I have Prime but I never watch anything on it - I find the free delivery makes it worthwhile though. Especially with a wife who seems to have parcels arriving almost daily from them ! I do find it scandalous- just like Sky, that if you’re paying a subscription- why are you getting adverts ?????
I've watched quite a lot on Prime, there's a ton of good stuff. Once you're up-to-date with your watching though, then it's a slow drip of new stuff. We don't use Prime delivery enough to warrant continuing just for that. And anyway, it's the principle - if everyone cancelled they'd have to re-think.
I'm well aware of the other avenues and therefore encourage everyone to "stick" it to the two hatted media companies Their unfettered greed has pushed me too far!
He is talking a load of nonsense. The City of London does have it's own police force but is one of the 33 boroughs that make up the Greater London Authority and therefore subject to the jurisdiction of the UK government.
The City of London, that unique square mile within Greater London, is its own entity with special status. It has its own government, mayor and police force; its own laws, flag and coat of arms. The City of London Corporation looks after and promotes the City.17 Nov 2022 The City of London Corp. is the governing body for the City of London, also known as “the City,” the historic and financial district of London Even though she is sovereign of the United Kingdom, Her Majesty the Queen is not allowed to enter the City of London without the permission of its Lord Mayor. The "City of London" refers to the historic core of London, often referred to as the "Square Mile." It has its own unique governance and legal status, separate from the rest of London and the UK. This is due to its ancient history as a separate entity with its own local government
"Her Majesty the Queen is not allowed to enterthe City of London without the permission of its Lord Mayor". This is purely a ceremonial thing. "It has its own unique governance and legal status, separate from the rest of London and the UK. This is due to its ancient history as a separate entity with its own local government" Yes it does have unique local government compared to the other 32 London Boroughs but I can assure you after many years of dealing with the City that they form part of the Greater London Authority and are subject to the jurisdiction of the UK government.
