Honestly, I'm starting to feel like we're all cowards. All I hear is that some meeting is happening somewhere where the politicians from all countries are condemning Putin. Meanwhile the people of the Ukraine are dying due to this big bully Putin - and the rest of the world are worried that anything we do to really help the people of Ukraine will escalate the situation. It's time to stand up to Russia and call Putins bluff. He's so used to 'the Wests' inactivity as with Crimea and MH17 that he knows he can continue with his threats and not face any military response. Every hour of inactivity is costing innocent lives. **** Putin.
His veiled threat of using nuclear weapons is his ace card. I can see him grinning like a Cheshire cat, enjoying the West's inability to do anything about it. Calling a despot's bluff is not an easy call to make. Who will make the call ?
The alternative is nuclear war ! Where nearly everyone could die, except those that start it who would be safe in thier bunkers to rule a world not worth having ??
Latvia would make the call, but unfortunately don't have the power to back it up. I can't see anyone making the call until the USA decides it's time. Do you think Putin would start a nuclear war knowing the outcome ? He's nuts alright, but I'm not convinced his military would be prepared to end the world.
Are the west willing to take that chance that Putin's cronies aren't that dull enough to take a their chances with him . Russia's problem is they've started war which they cannot win , they may take over Ukraine as a land mass but the minds and will of the people will never be overcome so what does the fecker do , kill 40 million I don't think so .
Who's laughing now .Europe’s largest economy is facing up to the prospect that the bulk of its natural gas and coal supplies could get choked off, ripping through its industrial base and sparking economic upheaval. Companies including utility Uniper SE and chemical giant BASF SE are particularly exposed, and with gas reserves low, the pain would quickly spread to manufacturers and households already buckling under ever-rising bills
Watching the news from Ukraine.Terrified people running for their lives from the bombing and shelling.Terrible. I think it's time to bomb the Russian b@stards give them a taste of their own medicine.
To be honest, it seems that it is only a question of when NATO says enough is enough….. If he secures control over Ukraine, what’s next ….. Moldova? It seems that the Bucharest ‘Agreement’ is not legally binding - just warm words: https://treaties.un.org/Pages/showDetails.aspx?objid=0800000280401fbb What will happen next elsewhere in the World - China into Taiwan? It seems that Biden’s ignominious departure from Afghanistan may have emboldened Russia, will China follow in its tracks?
