I think that gives my opinion, but I think the key would be what you get out of it, if you are guaranteed tickets when the horse runs and trips to the yard then it could be worth it for the money you spend.
The pedigree looks like a stayer on the flat, probably low grade handicaps given the relatives. Again though, this might mean good days racing and plenty of interest.
So for me - who trains it, what do you get out of it, and is it fun…

I know the trainer charges 75/40 per day so didn't think it was too bad. Horse doubled in price in a year, cost of living crisis eh! All joking aside, I just wanted an interest for minimal outlay and rather be 1/40 than 1/1000's as some can be. All relative though as you know. With my limited knowledge, I thought the pedigree might achieve an elusive win for a low grade animal but should be fun. I am based in Ireland so race days and visits would be limited for me but syndicate access, etc seems to be a strength of this new syndicate. Trainer even in the WhatsApp group apparently. Main points below.
General terms:
Once shares have been purchased outright (not leased) you will receive a welcome pack which will include a certificate of your share percentage. You will also be added to our Whatsapp group chats where all Syndicate information and updates will be provided. The upfront cost which includes VAT covers the purchase price of the horse and the monthly training fees are set at £75 per month per 2.5% all-inclusive and to be paid (By standing order) on the 1st day of every month in arrears.. Your share percentage has no expiry date unless the horse has been sold or retired. If you wish to sell your share percentage at any time you must provide us with 30days notice, in which you/we can find an alternative buyer or we buy back the share(s) at a fair market price. Whilst you/we are trying to source a buyer you are still accountable for any monthly training fees until a buyer has been found and the share has been signed over.
Owners badges: You will have 1 entry of a raceday owners badge per share, however this may have to be done via a ballot dependant on how many owners ask for a badge that day and how many badges the racecourse allocates us. Certain racecourses have syndicate lounges where we can have 20+ badges which includes light refreshments. However there will only be 8 parade ring passes and these will be distributed via a ballot. Any plus 1 badges may be requested but will only be granted if there are enough spare badges, alternatively plus 1’s will have to pay for any additional badges. We endeavour to get as many owners on course as we can through other contacts of the sport.
Prize monies: Are paid out (equally per share %) once all deductions have been made (Initial entry fees, jockey fees, VAT and transport, farrier costs) any monies left over then will be paid out on a quarterly basis.
Sale of horses: If an offer to buy a horse comes in, we will hold a vote with its existing owners to determine whether to sell or not. The majority vote will decide what we do. We deem this the fairest way.
When we sell a horse the syndicate will keep 10% for future investments and the remaining 90% will be split amongst the shareholders according to their share percentage.
Additional costs: Training fees are all inclusive except for surgeries including gelding and wind operations. Payments of such costs will be discussed and agreed upon with a majority vote with its owners.
Group entries require a larger entry fee, so additional costs may occur and will be discussed and agreed upon with a majority vote with its owners if and when we have a possible group entry.

You can't sniff at the sire, although one might have hoped that being Guineas placed and a Derby winner that he might have done better.

There is plenty of black type in the family Guillotina, One Way Street, Street Opera and Street Shana all being examples, and as Nass says generally horses that exhibited stamina. The dam was purchased because of this family by Lynch Bages breeding who do well now and again, but as I say haven't been successful with her.

What does he look like?
Ron is the best judge of confirmation.
With my meagre knowledge I'd say he has a good head, I'd like to see a stronger neck but that may come and has good shoulder. Is he a bit dipped in the middle?

He looks nice enough although having already been gelded that would raise a few eyebrows.
Nass would be put off by the numbers although I have seen much much worse profiteering.
The real fun in these ventures is going to the yard, watching work and interacting with likeminded people although it doesn’t sound like you plan to travel to see him that often.
As costs go it’s a nice comfortable level, you are not one of hundreds. I was looking at MPR juveniles this year trying to spot the next The Platinum Queen and 2.5% of any of theirs would cost you a lot more than this.
My big question to you is what you expect to get out of it as it seems you will rarely get to see him.

I would probably get over twice a year, been looking for something for a year or two and this one just jumped out at me for some reason. Gelding put a damper on it for sure but I wasn't expecting the next Galileo
I took a share in one on a free lease this summer with Dr Newland and Foxtrot racing, and what really struck me with that offer was that I couldn’t find any reason to “buy” more than the minimum share. They guaranteed me two badges each time it runs.
compare that to the horse I have with Stick, and we have 8 shares in that. I wouldn’t go lower % ownership with that horse as I have to manage the bunch.
I think what I’m saying is that I wouldn’t rush into buying 10% if that only gives minimal difference to 2.5%
Saved me money, but maybe cost me money...Came across this lady at the other end of the spectrum. Might be another 2.5%, must confirm? Any thoughts?

That is another good point, sharing the investment over horses is a good approach in my book, and I think Stick would agree.
more likely to get a horse to the track and to have a winner.
That horse looks very weak in that image, but I wouldn’t worry about that unless the image was today. Young horses develop quickly.

She's spent 3-4 weeks since the sale end of may in a pre training yard.

I don’t like her head, so that alone should give you confidence to take a share.
