Boruc has not really impressed me. He has made a few really good saves (RVP springs to mind) yet he has one of the lowest % saves to shots in the premiership. He was aided by the defence getting thier act together. I actually felt safer with Gazza in goal.

Are you smoking crack?

Gazzaniga's two main faults are he doesn't know where to position himself, and he doesn't have the appropriate ability to save one on ones. For everton's second goal http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xtymbr_gol-everton-2-1-vs-southampton_sport#.UYxfluUThCY, he doesn't move until the ball has past him and for their third http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xtymhk_goal-everton-jelavic-3-1-vs-southampton_sport#.UYxfC-UThCY, he moves across the goal until he is halfway and then stops. In isolation it is extremely bad goalkeeping, it may have been that he was very nervous and so his decision making was impaired, so I would have to give him some slack.

I don't think you can underestimate how much Gazzaniga has to develop before he can goalkeep at the top level. The only thing he possesses technically that is up to scratch is his kicking. Physically he has it all. Gazza is so raw that he could well be 32 before he can position himself properly, or he could have it figured out by preseason.

The stats I posted are fair whether you like it or not. They are not twisted to favour anyone so don't talk rubbish. I was surprised by them at the time.

*shakes head*. Really? How do thye account for the quality of the opposition? Which players were missing for SDaints? Which players were missing for the opposition? What the weather was doing? Where the sun was in the sky? Etc, etc.

A little aggressive of you to say Lamballana was talking rubbish.... now if we were to aim that thought anywhere....

New Era, OMG

I have been reading this thread and now decided to stop replying to your posts on this particular thread as I do have some other things to do today. Football is a game played on a bit of grass. Stats are dangerous bits of information. If not, then Chairmen would just appoint the makers of Football Manager, because they know everyone's stats and could win everything.

Gazza is really good with crosses and commanding his area, Boruc still puckers my arse when crosses come in as he does drop the odd clanger. You never get the feeling that Boruc is going to fumble the ball?

Sorry multiple posting.... from my phone.

Erm, not really, fist half against arsenal at home i would agree with you- he was shakey. But now I believe he is the best in the air, most commanding and generally inspires most confidence. I'm not anti gazza, just think send him out to a top L1 team or NPC team for a season to allow him to progress. He has potential but has made some howlers so no he is not ready for this level.

Back to stats- no you cannot simply count goals conceded over all games played- too many confounding variables as has been mentioned previously. Perhaps comparing 2 keepers over 2 seasons, maybe. But what has been suggested above is not appropriate due to small sample size.

Boruc has made some saves when most quality keepers would have conceded, ie RVP, save against reading. He has earned us points in this respect.
