He's barely won a header all game against the Costa Rican CB's although in fairness the service he's received has been poor. Hopefully he was just nervous and bangs a few goals in against Switzerland.
The idea that he's **** is laughable. Tore up the championship last season, now representing his country at the world cup following a successful campaign. His finishing is erratic and not a plus today but everything else about him was working well.
Think the entire team was nervous, once they took the lead they looked much more effective going forward and could/should have got more. Mitrovic being a prime waster in that regard. I don't subscribe to the idea some of our fans have that every player has to be either ****e or amazing. Mitro is a decent Premiership striker of the Crouch/Doyle variety, there's a small chance he'll develop into something better as he's still young but chances are he's a 10 goal a season player. That's ok.
So do plenty of decent strikers and wingers. The key is getting back up again and trying again. He does that too.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure it was Mitrovic whose run through the heart of the Costa Rican defence induced the foul for the free-kick that garnered the only goal of the game. The guy is a handful, his actual finishing ability is limited but he's an improvement on alternatives we have at Newcastle and probably better than who we'll get to replace him.
You may be correct there though I can just visualise him in an Athletico Madrid top playing as a niggly dirty striker who frees up space for those around him.

He means being unable to score against Costa Rica. Literally failed to see the difference between him and Gayle in terms of what they bring to finishing, the thing we actually need. He just looked the same player we had the season we went down. Honestly can't wait for him to barely light up the league at a good Fulham team. Basically the same thing Gayle did but we bum one of them because he kisses the shirt, whether that be ours or Fulham's.
