Isn't SKP the only English plyer EVER to win the "Golden Shoe"? For me definitely Quinn and Phillips. I loved watching the G Force back in the 80's but, as has been said, SKP and Quinny were one of the best strike partnerships period - not just for us.
Not even a contest for me, Quinn and Phillips had so much more to their game. Plus Quinn and Phillips did it in the top flight aswell as the championship whereas Gabby struggled in the top flight (without his partner and in a poor side). Quinn is one of the most underrated footballers I can think of to be honest. I dreaded him coming to us with either City or the mackems. Saying that I have Mackem mates who would definitely pick Gabby and Gates regardless of level, more because of Gabby than anything else.
One thing I do remember vividly about Gates & Gabbiadini was the almost telepathic runs they used to make. Gates went and we got Davenport, it wasn't nearly as effective.
