Yes !! I thought it was a very arrogant response.

When you're worth £100m+, it would be quite a nice gift to the community to recompense those that you screwed over when you were poorer.

But 50 former employees, give them say £10k each, that's only half a million (although a fair few of those 50 might tell him where to go).

That wouldn't enriched their halo though would it?

A donation to a library or hospital shows them in a saintly light.

Paying former employees would be tantamount to 'guilt' money.

I thought he was put there by the accountancy firm he worked for, then bought the company with a loan, ran it down so much the receivers stepped in. Once all the workers had gone he used another company to buy what was left (buildings and land)
Happy to be shown to be wrong, won't be the first time today.

<laugh> I've just heard what the council are going to do in response. It's brilliant, albeit slightly childish. But it's playing them at their own game.

he started work at Tempest Diesel Limited (Co. Number 00335080). In 1981, he used a loan to begin a buy-out of the company. In 1992 the company was put into administrative receivership at the behest of Barclays Bank, along with Ruscador Shipyard Limited.[3]

sounds like he was in a senior position for 11 years before the Administrators removed him - are you suggesting it was the banks fault they went bust with him in charge

You'll have to PM me, I can't reveal it out in the open as it might ruin it.

Those failed businesses were doomed from the start

You need a short name to be successful, that's marketing 101

It's obvious what the council should do, on the land they own in West Park erect a huge "KCOM Stadium, Owned By The People Of Hull" sign, sited as near as possible to the land the SMC lease. The sign should be two-sided so it's visable as you walk up to the stadium, and again on the way out.

And there's no reason they can't do it with the sign off the kcom but, in these times of austerity and council cut backs they may be loathe to spend money on doing just that.
The rate payers of hull will call them to ****, well the sad ones who attend council meetings etc.

Thank you ****ing Allams. My youngest son who has been going to City with me and my eldest lad for nearly 20 years says he's never going again while those odious clowns are in charge. Divide the city, fans, families. Do you want medals you pair of ****s.
