Im just not aware of the vote Phil. Lived a long time in ER and its a subject my Dad has always had strong feelings on. Ie a greater Hull. We would of talked about it. Anyway ill try find out a bit more about it.
Yeah just looked at that. 50k voted which was apparently 75 percent of those that could. I must of been in a coma.
You should have been informed about it if you lived in an area of the ER that would have been brought into a Greater Hull I would have thought.
Gategate is a farce, but I'm sure the Allams are keeping a close eye on the Mexico wall prototypes currently undergoing construction and testing as I'm sure they will be more than inspired to go even further... please log in to view this image
That sounds about right. I think I was the only one in Cottingham who voted for the change. People I know in the ER, some a few hundred yards from the Hull boundary say they live 'in the East Riding, near Beverley' I still say that I live in Hull. I also know people on Kingswood who say they live in Dunswell, near Beverley.
I didn't get a vote as i'd moved by the time of the vote, but what was the reasoning for east riding people to vote to be in the Greater Hull boundary? I don't get why one would vote to change to be controlled by a different council. Or is it that Cottingham etc. is seen by Hull as already being Greater Hull anyway so they wanted to formalise it?
From memory I think it was move by ERCC at the time to prevent a HCC proposal to extend the boundaries before the proposal grew legs. The massive majority against the idea blew the idea out of the water. The main reasons were, on one side do you want the ERCC to continue running the council or do you want Hull City Council to either run all or share the running of parts of the East Riding ? Basically it was an attempt by HCC to extend their boundaries to attract more funding etc.
Cheers. I'm originally from Beverley so obviously I think of Bev being in the ERYC, but I checked the other day and there are loads of places I thought would be in HCC remit that aren't.
So what is the latest about the gate? Was there a phalanx of security goons escorting eager fairground visitors past the KCOM last night?
Pretty tight the Hull boundaries and don't include some of the affluent areas on the doorstep. Which results in Hull fairing even worse in various league tables.
Sorry if this is already been done. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/news...ws/kcom-should-end-stadium-sponsorship-596151
