Does anyone have any info on the clubs plans for Ramirez?
What do you all think about him - are we all agreed he should be shipped, or is anyone willing to give him yet another chance?

I said from day 1, his signing wouldn't work out.

Big value, 'big name' signing; came for the money. Not an Adkin's signing, was never going to work out.

He just couldn't stay healthy. Otherwise, the potential was there. Maybe it would have taken some coaching, but you can't very well coach a guy when he's not even fit for practice half the time. And MP really didn't like him. So.. that will hurt, too.

Ramirez has a use in front of the DM's as a squad player. I'd certainly rather see him there than Davis.

Completely disagree.

Steven Davis has arguably been in out top 5 players this season.

We've taken more points with him playing than not.

Couldn't agree more. Davis offers a lot more than gaston. He was class against City (albeit in a slightly deeper role). Gaston to be honest has been absolutely pony.

Davis got 2 assists this season in 32 starts. Ramirez got more assists (3) for us last season and started 3 times. I know who I'd rather be playing at infront of the DM's.

Steven Davis has not been in our top 5. No way. He's been complete ****e since January.

I've got Forster, Clyne, Fonte, Alderweireld, Yoshida, Bertrand, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Ward-Prowse, Mane, Tadic, Long, Pelle all above Davis this season.

We don't agree a lot of time, but this is one of those rare occasions where I whole heartedly agree with you. <laugh>

Different styles of play. Davis is a lot more direct. Runs around like crazy, gets himself involved in everything.

Ramirez preferred more of a free role where he drifted about looking for open space and making himself a target for passes. People said he was lazy. I didn't think he was. We were bad that first year. and I think if anything Ramirez hurt his play by trying to help out too much and playing too far back which weren't his strengths.

At that point, a creative midfielder was a luxury player we couldn't afford. And then MP brought the press, and that definitely suited Davis more than Ramirez.

But now that our defense is solid, I would argue that would tilt the scales more towards Ramirez. We need a guy who can unlock defenses and Davis isn't it. Although who knows if Ramirez is it either, because the dude cannot stay healthy. After all this time, I feel like I would defend against accusations that Ramirez sucks. But I certainly can't argue that he's good, either. He's just an unknown player who might be good in the right system if he is healthy, but he is never healthy, and this still might not be the right system.
