Spoke to a gentleman involved with the Gas Girls today about the league positions and promotion. If I understood him correctly one win or two of the other teams failing to win would see them top of the table from where they could apply to be promoted to the division above, promotion at this level is not automatic
Latest table positions Gas Girls played 14 37points Almondsbury Women First played 13 28 points Frampton Rangers played 15 25 points Gas girls won 6 - 0 v Cheltenham Town Dev 9 teams in the league so thats 16 matches per season. I make that 1 point needed from 2 matches to be Champions, then they can apply for promotion to the division above. Not a bad record leading the league in their first season which was cut short because of Covid, promoted as champions last season and 1 point to repeat the feat again this season
1 point needed but with the MASSIVE goal difference advantage.... we may as well make the call now to seek permission to move up to the next league.
2 games to play but one of the matches is against I think against Almondsbury Women and if they win their three games and the Gas girls lose their two it would come down to goal difference so it would be nice to see them win at least one those games or draw with Almondsbury
4 - 0 victory today to give them the championship. Well done and many congratulations to The Gas Girls. Led the table in the season cut short by Covid, Champions and promoted last season, Champions this season and now they can apply for promotion again
Looks like the Gas Girls are going to be the highest finishing team in Bristol again, I am talking about league position not league. City ladies come next followed by the Rovers who played 28 with 38 points, then the City who have played 32 for 37 points. Maybe we should take lessons of our ladies teams
Report on the BBC sport site stating that the GAS GIRLS can celebrate back to back promotions. Next season they will start in the 5th tier of Women's football league. Many congratulations to them on another outstanding season and their resulting promotion
Covid hit the squad and they couldn't raise a team so they had to forfeit the last match, so very pleased they won the last game they played and confirmed their place at the top. their opponents on Sunday were Almondsbury ladies who I believe finished second
As it's international women's day today (seems like its that day every day in my house) Rovers have announced that on April 23rd, after the Rovers vs Forest Green, the Gasgirls will be playing on the Mem pitch as well. It's a double header, so if you go to the mens game, you can stay and watch the girls for free. Im glad the girls get a chance on the Mem pitch. They deserve it.
CJS Who are they playing, I thought their season was over especially as their promotion has been confirmed
Contacted the Community trust today and the FGR game is a double header we play the men and the Gas girls play FGR ladies
Sorry we couldn't match your winning the league ladies but at least we managed a promotion like you did
Triple promotion at Rovers. The mens team and the girls 1st and development teams. Not a bad season for the blue and white half of Bristol.
