Gary Speed was a legend of English football.
He was awarded an MBE in 2010 and achieved the highest amount of appearances
( 535 ) until this was superceded by Ryan Giggs and David James.
Speed joined Bolton in 2004 from Newcastle in 2004 and became The premier League's first player to make 500 appearences in the victory over West Ham 4-0 in Dec 2006.
He also scored in every season of the premiership since its inception until 2007.
Ryan Giggs is the only other player to do this.
He played for the 'Wanderers 139 times scoring 14 goals.
God bless you Gary Speed.
