Credit where it's due he's actually a decent commentator. What I do dislike is 'Monday Night Football' or 'MNF' trying to bring something back to life even though it's cheesy, very awkward and had it's day. Wish they'd just scrap it. I liked Redknapp too he seems to know what he's talking about!

I don't mind Redknapp, obviously he's in a difficult position talking about Spurs.

He could do with giving his missus some presenting tips. I was watching something for the weekend this morning and I had to check Wikipedia to check she hadn't been lobotomised lately.

She has been. By my penis. Fnarr fnarr.

Ray Wilkins is worse.

I used to dislike Wilkins, but I've really warmed to him of late. Maybe has something to do with his shabby treatment at Chelsea, but I don't have the same disdain for him anymore.
He's so positive it's unbelievable! I swear he's the most un-cynical person on television today. I can be quite the cynic, so it's refreshing to see someone with such a positive outlook.

Totally understand how he's not eveyone's cup of tea, though.

Annoying how he calls the Chelsea players by their first names though. I know he knows them personally but it's unprofessional and probably confusing for people who dont know the team very well.

Can't believe the stick the fans give Keegan. He's a club legend, we wouldn't be where we are today without him.

Probably the same weirdos he think the suns shine out of Ashley's anus.

Ray Wilkins is worse.

Wilkins is a nice bloke but a ****ing terrible pundit.

Neville isn't as bad as I thought he'd be, same with Allardyce when he commentated on one of our games last year (Man U home?).

I like Neville to be honest! He's unbiased, said nice things about us on his last MNF and he makes sense. Also not up his own arse. He doesn't need to compensate for being a **** useless footballer who wont nothing of interest like a lot of commentators, because he didn't. He had a canny career, have to admit that. And he now doesn't need to feel like a cynical ****. Just my thoughts.

I'd like to know the ages of these people. As a twenty something he's a managerial legend. To anyone older he's a playing legend. Even 4 years ago despite being 'out of touch' and out of football for years he got Martins, Owen and Viduka playing as one of the best attacking units I'd seen in ages at SJP. He's got issues with Ashley as many have, but whatever he says or does he'll always be a legend here.

Ditto Shearer, how dare he be neutral on MOTD...

I mean, KK went to court, and WON THE CASE, showing that he was completely in the right, and he had been deceived! So you can't blame him for walking out on us there. He got us playing brilliant football in a 433 and managed to get the best out of Geremi! He took us to Olt Trafford and got us a draw followed by a home win before he left! So what reason is there to dislike him, even if you can't remember the glory days in the 90s?

I'm 17, and I obviously knew about KK long before his return from an early age because of my Dad's nostalgia. Any Toon fan who can't comprehend what he's done for our club is clearly ill informed.

There are two different ways of looking at it: Keegan the manager and Keegan the pundit. He was a great manager the first time around but as a pundit he is just like the rest of them like Hansen, Lawrenson and Souness. He is just another big name from the past and doesn't really say anything about the game he is talking about bar the typical pundit talk. Shearer isn't very good on Match of the Day but that programme isn't what it used to be. Lee Dixon is properly the best because he actually talks in depth about the games when he is analysing them.

Yeah I've seen a couple of people having a pop at Keegan on here too. Absolutely no idea how any Newcastle fan can do that at all; the man's passion and enthusiasm was seriously inspirational and epitomises the crazy, exciting, attack-minded and passionate image we live up to.

Any true Newcastle fan knows what Keegan did for us and will always love him for it. However, as has been mentioned, we are talking about punditry here, not playing/managerial ability. If you can genuinely defend Keegan as a pundit then you are as misguided as those you criticise, because he's awful.

Yeah he's a miserable pundit. Yes, Kevin, there is only one tap isn't there..

Agreed he's not the best pundit, but there have been comments on this board from people saying they just don't like him, which is frankly madness.

I'll say it through gritted teeth, but I actually don't mind Gary Neville. He seemed fairly nervous at first, which was actually quite endearing (bless).

He's obviously a cock, but what he says is generally spot-on. I'd rather have a pundit who talks sense than a knacker like Mark Lawrenson on the beeb who knows nothing about football outside the Premier League.
