    I have only ever watched the Glasgow giants on Sky and I must admit that your derby matches are as intense as ours with Pompey in so far as we can tell on the box. That said, you are the only two teams in your league ever likely to win the title being in such a league as yours. Less money means less talent generally.

    Hooper would be a great signing for us if it were to happen and I still have my doubts. Having a Scottish Champions medal might sound good but it is basically won by playing only one team with an equal status to yours. For him to win a Championship medal on the other hand would mean he had done the business against more teams. It may not sound as good but I believe it would be far more difficult to win our league than it would yours.

    We are trying to grow and to do so need a couple of quality players. Hooper may well be one of those. If he is he will cost us a packet, and deservedly so. Adkins knows his man and I imagine that Hooper has developed since they were at Scunny.

    If we get him I will be over the moon, ecstatic and doing cartwheels. If not then we will find someone else, and maybe someone in a wider position that will make us a more balanced team.

    Let me flip that around for you.

    At Celtic he's playing for a big club that wins silverware on a regular basis and plays in Europe every year. He gets good service, scores plenty of goals and is idolised by most fans.

    IF he joins Southampton and IF you get promoted the truth is you aren't going to be challenging for the title, more likely your goal will be to avoid relegation. At best you might go on a good cup run. At the very best you might claim a Europa League spot.

    I have no doubt that Hooper will end up in the EPL at some point but he has a lot of unfinished business with Celtic. We were the ones who took a punt on him when no one else did. He's here to win the title. IF we win the title we get a crack at the Champions League. Do not underestimate how much of a lure that is to a player, even with a Scottish club.
