Has died at only 46. Tragic. Just shows you never know what is round the corner! Condolences to his friends and family.

I'd forgotten he was the only player ever to win the FA Cup with both Liverpool and Everton. Very sad, RIP Gary. 
He was ill so at least his family would have been braced for it unlike Gary Speed but still sad news. RIP
A lot lot younger than me, mate! Good lad who was respected on both sides of the divide in Liverpool. But of course, more significant, it is the loss to his family and once again things like 3-0 defeats at Brighton are put into perspective.
I was really shocked to hear this news as I didn't realise he had been ill.
Gary Ablett was one of those players I recall from the late 80's at the time when Liverpool had the best team in the country. Seems to have been a genuinely good bloke and a model pro.
