After all the speculation over the past few weeks about the imminent arrival of Michu to Upton Park, the club have finally got their man as the rumour mill whispers that the staff at the Boleyn prepared to unveil their latest Summer signing.
Over the past few weeks, many observers have become obsessed with the possibility that Swansea forward, Michu (AKA Miguel Perez Cuesta), might arrive to provide reinforcements for Andy Carroll in the Upton Park medical room.



According to Spanish reports, Swansea striker Michu already passed his Napoli medical in Ibiza a month ago.

Napoli had vociferously denied rumours over the last few weeks that Michu had visited the Castelvolturno camp for tests.

CalcioNapoli24 and La Nueva Espana now claim that’s because the medical was performed in Ibiza, where the forward was on vacation last month.

It is believed the ankle injury has now completely healed and the two clubs are very close to agreeing a transfer.

“Just two months ago his father told me Rafa Benitez made numerous phone calls to find out about Michu’s fitness levels,” said La Nueva Espana journalist Nacho Azparenn.

“Their interest in him goes back a long way and the first negotiations started during their Europa League tie.”

Michu did not arrive for pre-season training at the Swansea City camp, but the 28-year-old is expected to fly in only to request a transfer.

The price-tag is around £8m – €10m – but Napoli are trying to get him on loan with option to buy.



There are so many conflicting reports that you cant take anything serious, Just like ash who was imminent to joining sunderland,Arsenal and Napoli. ...Poor Ash had no contact with any of them...

There is a few who have not returned yet. remember michu cant do anything unless the club has given their permission as he is under contract so i would not read into anything about any player that has not reported back yet. He cannot sign or have talks or anything like that unless the club says he can. thats why i knew it was crap that ash had had a medical ....it cant happen...

Still a while before the window closes , lI think Michu and Paulo will exit , why , because I think they are not happy , guess we'll find out quick enough

If michu leaves then it will be because the club has agreed and the deal will be in our favour. Michu cannot do his own thing as he is under contract and that's the fact of the matter. All the reports in the media i would not give a second thought about just like the ones about ash that were all Bollocks. Once the club announces what is happening about michu then that is the truth and whatever the club decides will first and foremost be in the interest of the club and the best deal for the club...

 

I have no issue with Michu leaving for another premier league club, because I am assuming the Swansea curse will strike again. Don't mind him banging them in for a team like Tottenham if that curse didn't happen as we are not competing for position with them, he won't join one of our main competitors. We need to concentrate on beating the mid table teams for position.

Italian media claim Napoli will sign Michu from Swansea on loan with option to buy for €15m within days.

Their interest in the Spanish striker has been clear for some time, as they see him as the ideal understudy to Gonzalo Higuain.

According to several Italian sources, including Sport Mediaset, a deal has already been struck with Swansea City to take him on loan.
