There were more teams, and that's inescapable. Monk has had the benefit of all the vast sums of money at the Club's disposal. It really is not possible to say who is better, and I haven't attempted to do so. I was simply responding to a poster who was trying to airbrush Toshack from history. Well,he does have form in that direction. He has dismissed Martinez, then Rodgers, then Sousa, now Toshack. Look out Garry, you are next. <laugh>

The days of tosh when teams like Blackburn, villa and Norwich were winning the league.....Its far harder today to get into the top ten than in tosh's day......Monk eclipses tosh hands down, there is no comparison ....and tosh did start in Div 4 and he took us back there......

[Note: unaltered, unchanged, untampered and original meaning intact - the correct way to use a quotation in a reply]

Libertarian help yourself and gain a smudge of self respect, give up now, surrender yourself, submit, bend, bow, buckle and capitulate because my superior intellect will ALWAYS beat yours. You will never, ever win a battle of wits with me simply because you don't have the right tools or weapons to defend yourself effectively. This is probably why I feel like a bully when talking down to you but I have to because if I use big words you'll never understand, so little words it is then <ok>

Once again Stumpy rides to your rescue wibble, no need to thank me.

Libertarian, Libby, Lib, Wibble, knowing the meaning of a word and using it in a structured sentence to convey meaning is a better way by far than just spouting baby banter. Babies use words because they sound nice and not because of their meaning, Goo Goo Ga Ga being a sound example.

Here's one of those little words I was talking about Libertrian, Libby, Lib, Wibble. I'd like to describe the meaning of this well known, often malignly used little noun of four letters - FACT, so you can understand it and use it correctly in the future.

and so another lesson begins, again, do sit up wibble:

Below are definitions with a real life description of its use in relation to our illustrious manager Mr Garry Monk in italics:

    FACT means:-
    • Knowledge or information based on real occurrences: e.g., Gary Monk has built a strong squad on a shoestring.
    OR
    • Something demonstrated to exist or known to have existed: e.g., Garry Monk HAS lead his team to the highest ever position in the premiership. We know it to be true because millions and millions of people world wide saw it it happening. simply using an incomparable event some of 30 years ago to hide behind so you don't have to acknowledge that FACT only a fool would.......oh, hang on
    OR
    • A real occurrence; an event: e.g., Highest ever position in the premiership; Triple against Utd; Superb signings, Superb tactician, demolished the old changing room to go on and rebuild it bigger, better, stronger (these are all FACTS)

So, Libertarian, Libby, Lib, wibble, all you have to do is apply your versions of reality to the defined FACTS and write them in italics. (highlight > ctrl i on your keyboard)

Lets broaden the search for your facts shall we and ask ANY poster, ANYONE, EVERYONE to find one, single, tangible, verifiable FACT: as defined above, in ANY derisive post by Libertarian, Libby, Lib, Wibble which underpins his views, and derision, of Garry Monk, potentially our greatest manager of the generation.

........and don't forget Libertarian <laugh>, Libby, Lib, wibble to put your version of the FACTS in italics (ctrl-i)

Highest ever position in the Premier League is a FACT

Triple against Utd is a FACT

Superb signings is a subjective issue and therefore can't be a fact. (Although in my opinion they have been excellent).

Superb tactician is even more subjective so can never be a fact. (He is improving all the time - in my opinion)

Demolished the old changing room to go on and rebuild it bigger, better, stronger. Demolished the old changing room is a fact (as evidenced by the number of players who left) and rebuilt it bigger, better, stronger is subjective but could be quantified on results since the demolishing of the old changing room, so you could argue that it is a fact, but not in any direct way.

"simply using an incomparable event some of 30 years ago to hide behind so you don't have to acknowledge that FACT only a fool would.......oh, hang on".
By using the word "incomparable" you have introduced subjectivity. Some would say it is comparable because it was the top league then and it is the top league now.

Strewth, I'm almost siding with Libertarian!! I need to re-evaluate my position <laugh> Laters.

Subjective observations passed off as facts, quite right. In fact upon reading, my whole post was pretty petty don't you think? I do now.

Have been irked by things beyond the board and beyond my control lately and, from experience, I should keep my mouth shut when irritated instead of writing an overbearing and excessively childish post, not very clever of me <doh>

Apologies to all but especially to Libertarian who has attracted and bore the brunt of my irritation lately <ok>

In the interests of fairness, and as things are developing it looks like I'm going to be very irritated for a while longer, I feel it best I ban myself for a couple of weeks.

So, see you on the other side, after a couple more wins, would be nice.

I've tried to stay out of this nonsense but comments like "give up now, surrender yourself, submit, bend, bow, buckle and capitulate because my superior intellect will ALWAYS beat yours." makes this forum a rather unpleasant place to be for the rest of us at times.

It's little wonder you "feel like a bully" because it does smack of dreadful, condescending, self-opinionated bullying to me and I think some life needs to be found away from the forum.
