and scholes who is a multi millionaire, what an easy choice for him to retire after a season where he played very little, for every scholes there are players who will still play if they are deemed good enough by their club. swansea think monk is worth a 3 year contract and who are we to disagree...
Lads Brendan intends transitioning monk into the coaching set up over the next 2 to 3 years, so you can expect monk to be featuring less from next season and will be a player coach in year 3 hence the extension option to his contract . But don't expect to see monk in the matchday 18 very much from 2013/14 as he will be fully involved in the backroom side of things,
Aber The above has come from people i know who are very close to one of the senior players at the club. On to scholes he stopped worrying about the money side of his football many years ago, he realised that he had lost a yard or 2 of pace, and by going now he remains a legend and his rep is intact. dude
Well thought he was going to the saints anyway if what what Mabon is saying is true I am happy that he has been offered a contract, not quite sure why he has been offered a players contract if he is doing coaching though
Why not, I guess is the answer? I know 3 years is fairly long term for someone his age, but the club have to at least account for the possibility of us being relegated, in which case he'll once again be (if what a lot of people are saying re: his "level" is true) a useful player. The coaching thing is a natural progression, and I'd be surprised if, in three years time, he wouldn't have the legs to be good cover, at the very least.
with sturridge against monk if i didnt make that obvious the first time, old man v youth he is gonna get hammered, hate to see him v tevez
I don't get why you're so quick to knock a stalwart of the club. Monk has been an exemplary professional for the Swans and deserves to at least be given a chance.
