Steve the Statto, what was the total goals scored by our midfield last season? Would be nice if Gardner beat that on his own!
If he gets upwards of 7 or 8 we'll love him. Hopefully he'll stick around and do it for a good few years as well!
Richardson got 4 and Zendon 2 as well. Riveros got 1 as well. I m not saying they wont do well, just dont "expect" a hatful of goals and assists.
But wasnt Gardner warming the bench and reserves for most of his Villa career and last season was his first proper full season? He is only 24 as well remember.

Larsson, Vaughan and Gardener are 3 really solid, quality signings but none of them are top 4 material. However, all 3 will improve our overall play and goal scoring ability. We lacked any depth of quality last season and that has been addressed. Horses for courses as they say and for me, we have really made some superb signings this summer.
I worked with stats for years and know they can be manipulated to suit an argument. After all 50% of 2 is 1 and a half of 2 is also 1.
Yes it always makes me smile when I go into Ladbrokes and see they are saying, as an example, that a jockey has a 30% success rate when riding for a certain trainer. That looks okay until you consider it means out of 10 runners 7 of them didn't win!!.
