i really honestly think its sloppy as **** journalism and punditry cos if anyone recalls spur main issue was not euope which they did awful in.. it was kane and no back up.

you have no striker reserve and your striker gets injured expect to lose ground
with respect chelsea have a couple reserves of quality all round the park and would imo have gone and won this league anyway.

Didn't Son step up to the plate when Kane was injured? I thought they dealt with it very well. Unlike us with Mane in Jan.
Honestly, I think having European football as a reason for doing poorly is a bad excuse usually.
If you're good enough to get out of group stage you probably have had the funds to have a bigger squad anyway.

Not really... obviously they did better than us but they played kids v us in efl and lost.. and drew 3 in a row in league. That's where's they went backwards and imo son and Janssen... meh.
If we're having top 4 might as well get 3rd ... no qualification shenanigans so less games, bit more money and looks better, finish above both manc clubs at the expense of one of them, better for confidence going into next season, and why the feck not ??

United and arsenal draw would be perfect, if we win game before against saints.
Put us 6 clear of united played 1 more so gives us space for 1 loss and GD is slightly better (with them still playing Spurs) and also puts Arsenal completely out of it. Would be 11 behind with 2 games in hand but only 2 more games after that.
In theory, win Sunday, Arsenal and united draw and 4th is pretty much done.
Then just a fight out with city for 3rd which could well come down to GD.. let see hope of it comes to that we don't do another Palace and try going for 7 and throwing away the points!

Son has had an excellent season imo. We could have done with him.

He's a very good player but there is one issue with him - he will have to serve compulsory military service at some point in the near future (unless he gets a special exemption which is rare).
South Korean men are required to complete at least 21 months of military service before they turn 28, meaning Son can play abroad until July 2019.
