I was a tad disappointed Casterly Rock was nothing like it is in the books, but to be honest it couldn't be, otherwise it would require a full episode akin to the Blackwater one from series 2 for the battle. Dragonstone gets better looking with every scene (I've been to where they filmed it, it's breathtaking in real life too, even without the castle).

They've built up the idea of the dragons being vunerable, it has to happen, it's now reached a Chekov's Gun scenario with them and that giant crossbow built by Qyburn.

Of course, two will have to survive, considering Jon and Dany will both need one each...

Cersei did some knee bending if I recall... :bandit:

This season was cut short wasn't it? 7 episodes rather than the usual 10. I'm sure they could have done Casterly Rock and/or High Garden a bit more in depth.

It is shorter, but as Sydney said, the original plan was for this to be the final series, but instead we have another one after this which is six episodes long, so we have 13 episodes instead of 10.

Going into High Garden in depth would've been a tad pointless really, the Tyrell soldiers have always been known as a bit crap. The Olenna scene was all we needed.

We could have at least seen the slaughter. They like to skip the best bits, like when Rob Stark annihilated the Lannister army back in the beginning.

It's not that they like to skip bits, it's all about the show's budget. Hence why we rarely get episodes like Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards, which is a good thing because only having those sorts of episodes on occasion makes them better, and in the case of Hardhome IMO, it's the best episode they've ever done.

It's also about time - the lack of battle is replaced with what is undoubtedly a much more important and better scene between Jaime and Olenna. I'd rather them spend time on that scene over a massively one-sided battle with an obvious end.

They're clearly saving up for something, and by the looks of things, we'll start seeing it next week.

I'm going right off her character , her whole gang are starting to piss me off a bit

She's meant to be like this atm, that's the point.

She says she's nothing like her father, but deep down she's equally as insane and doesn't realise it.

Jon's heritage will have a massive part in what Dany eventually does.

By 'her whole gang', you better not be including Tyrion... man's a ****ing legend.

Do we think we are too far off piste from the books for Lord Jon Connington, and Aegon to still turn up with the Golden Company?

I'd thought he was the 3rd seat on the Dragons but I guess he's been written out.....

There isn't a poor storyline at the moment probably for the first time in GoT history.

There's no fillers, everything that's happening at the moment is proper important.

Love it.

Thought that Cersei kissing
Jaime after having poison on her lips
was a bit ****ing risky.
