''I get the feeling a lot of people are complaining for the sake of it, and are annoyed that what they wanted to happen isn't what they're getting'' Let's face it, Quilly old chap - the world is full of thick, know nowt/know everything ****s who have varied internet platforms to spout their ''facts'' to other thick, know nowt/know everything ****s ...... that **** Tim Berners-Lee has a lot to answer for!
Renly? Season 2 and that's ya lot? Stannis is alive and well, correcting spelling and grammar on message boards.
No spoilers needed for this comment, but GRRM is a fat ****ing **** who needs to sit his ass down and finish writing the ****ing books. They are so much better than the TV series, and I cannot wait to see how he ends it. 1996 the first book was published!
Spoiler Here is Ozzy Man's review of s08e05. Don't watch this video until you have watched the episode.
Spoiler My only issues with the episode are: 1. Varys is the master of whispers and is always one step ahead. So he just goes up to John and anyone else who will listen 'Hey want to commit treason'? Plus he is killed 'off-camera' which was lame. 2. The whole Jamie thing was complete arse from a character point of view 3. Cersie is always planning something, always something up her sleeve. She kept acting like she knew what she was going to do. In reality it was just literally 'someone will probably kill the dragon' with no actual plan or any escape planned. From a cinematic point of view it's probably been the best episode
Finish the next book? Maybe. Finish the series, I don't see it. Spoiler: Book and Show spoilers The battle of Winterfell saw 24 main and sidekick characters assembled there. To face down the Night King. Whose motives were revealed by Sam in two lines of dialogue. Ah, yes the NK. Not in the books yet, whitewalkers yes, but not Uncle Nasty himself. Not your bitch is now faced with organising that great gathering. Davis is looking for Rickon, Sansa is at the Vale, Jon Snow is dead, Stannis still has a wife and daughter, Hodor still hodoring and Bran learning how to get online, or onroot, or on whatever. Tyrion is hooked up with a pig and one of the cast of the mock battle seen at Joffreys wedding. Cersei has just handed carte blanche to the fanatics. Arya is training, but still in Bravos. Dany has **** going down in Slavers Bay. A book, or two to resolve that lot? But I hope he does. Jon to Arya in the first book, "different roads lead to the same castle". The show runners have travelled theirs, I would like to read the authors. So, yes, George get off your ****ing lazy arse and write.
Spoiler I’m going with a big twist, that Cerci & Jamie aren’t dead. Seems a **** way to kill off the villain!
No complaints here. The questions I have will probably be answered in the books. As opposed to the show runners using them as source material for prequels.
Fair enough.....tough ending to write, whole season felt rushed as did the deaths of various major players, certainly not the strongest season by a distance. Really brings my desire for GRRM to finish the books to the fore. Want to see how he sees it ending.
Fantastic. The season has been epic. It's only felt rushed because we knew it was ending, it could easily have been a full length season or even a season more but it wasn't and that's the writers choice. I'm more than happy with how it ended and I have no problem with the conclusion of any character arcs. My wife cried her little eyes out. But that's enough about The Big Bang Theory... No, seriously, GoT has been a hell of a thing. But there's no chance George RR is finishing the books. We might get one more but A Dream Of Spring will always be that, just a dream. If he was a picture of health I'd think differently but the bugger's gonna be on the RIP thread before the book club thread. It's become too big for him and I don't think he's got the balls to finish the job. I don't blame him, the expectation must weigh heavily. Spoiler: GoT And I know the direwolves should have featured far more in this season but they couldn't make them look real enough for the budget. I'm sure they'll be integral in the potential books.
Even if GRRM doesn't finish the books, they could go the route of the Wheel Of Time series. Robert Jordan passed away after finishing 11/14 books in the series. The final 3 were written by Brandon Sanderson, largely based on Jordan's notes. In my opinion the quality of writing went up for those final books.
From the gruniard comments, "at least someone finished the books". May, may see Winds of Winter. My grandkids might see someone else finish the book series.
In a way, that's what's happened here. Weiss and Beinoff have finished the story, but in a different media. Though, I agree, A Song of Ice and Fire will be completed, I just don't think it will be by Martin.
Does that matter, though? This whole season has taken place over months. It doesn't feel like that because we've only seen the parts that matter. With the main cast being reduced, the story only moved faster.
