What party? You're going to rejoice over the death of a human being.

As the Dali Lama said you should never use violence or celebrate it as a force of good against evil. While it may achieve good in the short term it will only ever spawn more evil.......

He said something along them lines

Good for him <ok> He isn't the fount of all knowledge. I think people should be allowed to celebrate the death of someone who has oppressed them for about forty years! And as outsiders looking in we should be celebrating there hard won freedom with them.

Dream boat, do you have any knowledge of the politics of the region, how "opressed" these citizens actually were, or why this conflict actually came to happen or why NATO got involved?

Completely disagree, in exactly the same way I didn't agree with the celebration in the death of saddam hussein or osama bin laden.

Wanna celebrate the death of an oppressive leader responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands - maybe throw a party when Bush dies!

Right so you'd rather have the good Colonel back in power? So the evil west cant get there hands on the oil? I do know quite a lot about politics i'm no expert but I was pretty good at it at A-level and hold a very keen interest in the world <ok>

Jesus was a Gerodie, don't worry i will have a party when Bush dies <laugh>

There are a lot more cruel ignorant and disgusting human beings in power so one fallen monster makes only so much difference but hopefully things in Libya get better now on.

This <ok> This is what i'm getting at Jacky_Ickx. Fair enough what you say about a country descending into chaos might happen but at least with Gaddafi gone there is a chance to make a diffrence.

It isn't about getting theirs hands on his oil it is to do with the fact he was to trade his oil in gold and not US Dollars (severely weakening the dollar) in the same way Iraq was about Saddam switching the currency he traded oil in to Euros away from the dollar.

How cruel was he? Well I know he and the west did not get on but his citizens had quite a few perks afforded to them by his gov't. I for one would rejoice at petrol being 6p per litre at the pump as it was under him, watch the grumblings from the citizens start as this increases under the new gov't

Il put up a list when I get off this app and onto my laptop

This is kinda different. Gaddafi's supporters were only fighting for Gaddafi, Iraqi insurgents were fighting for Sadam and against foreign occupation as well. Gaddafi's supporters have nothing left to fight for. Iraq is actually fairly safe now you can get commercial flights from Heathrow to Baghdad http://flights.idealo.co.uk/route/Baghdad-BGW/London-Heathrow-LHR/
