Whilst not overly excited about his signing I don't think he can be overly blamed - Davies is an expereinced Prem player & made plenty of players look ordinary, the own goal was just unfortunate trying to stop/clear a difficult ball.

I'd really blame the team as a whole - the space & time Bolton had in the 2nd half was criminal.

To be fair to him and Fitz it can't get much worse physically then having to play against Davies in the first game.

Personally thought Gabbidon did ok, especially in the first half. The thing that bothered me in the second half was the amount of room bolton got , on a small pitch like ours. We were only 1-0 at half time and we were still in the game but started the second half so badly , we went almost 4-2-4. there was no protection for the back four, and with no protection we will get pulled to pieces with out lack of pace, which is exactly what happened.

Personally i was a bit disapointed with Campbell, i know its his first game but did very little for me.

I thought Gabbidon was out best defender. Orr was rubbish, Hill is too slow and Hall was crap in the Championship. Faurlin and Derry didnt play well and I think we need cover for them. Faurlin will excel if he has a real Premiership holding midfielder next to him. Derry would be a good squad player but cant play every week at this level.

Our strikers looked good, very impressed with Bothroyd who will get better. Smith looked out of his depth. Overall I think we are still 5 players short of a team that will stay up.

Obviously some posters weren't sitting near me on Saturday. To suggest Gabbidon was one of the best players on the pitch is laughable. Bring back Gorkss and don't even contemplate selling him before the transfer window. If Gabbidon is the type of player we are ending up with it is going to be a hard campaign. Who won the Dyer sweepstake? I'd gone for 10 minutes, only 7 minutes out but still no cigar.

Gabbidon was far from perfect but lightyears ahead of Hall.

West ham let in 70 goals last season, Gabbidon part of that, though some would argue that he wasn't always first choice even for them.
