I've actually been to a Buddhist monastery for a day, on Lantau Island(near Hong Kong), where the have the giant Buddha.. please log in to view this image It's high up, you have to walk up exactly 200 steps to get to it and I thought it was an ancient monument. I said to the Chinese guy I was with, 'it's amazing how they got this giant Buddha up here, how did they do it?', he said 'they used two of those big helicopters with two propellers', turns out it's been there less than twenty years. I also went to see a fortune telling monk, who read my bamboo wishing sticks and told me I had 'Jade in Box', which is very good apparently. Food was **** though, if you like decent food, don't become a monk, they mainly eat dishwater with the odd bit of vegetation floating in it. I had to go for cake straight afterwards.
dont you worry, i'll check under my seat tomorrow! although percy should be more worried, he's the student!!!
