He then reappeared as Chelsea Dagger and appointed an imaginary solicitor to get my IP address....but at no point did he ever worry about me. Seems to me that there are multiple arguments going on. firstly this quote 'HIV/Aids was, he argued, "a tragedy that cannot be overcome by money alone, that cannot be overcome through the distribution of condoms, which can even increase the problem". I cant see what is wrong with that tbh. Money alone wont solve the AIDS proble. The distributon of condoms is not working entirely, and I actually agree that condoms can (emphasis being CAN) increase the problem, basically because condoms allow for more sexual activity. People assume condoms = no pregnancy/no STD's. Although can help condoms are not 100%. As for the whole marriage and sex argument, you do know that it is the POPE you are arguing about? when he says no condoms he means in marriage, as sex outside is big sin in catholicism. so abstinence is a given methinks As for some of theother stuff, why are people judging by the standards of britain? what works in society here doesnt mean it is transferrable to other societies. There are societies where sex before marriage is not allowed (I am sure it does happen but is in th eminority) and aids is non existence. In other societies its other factors. Factors which may seem stupid to us For example in India condoms are not on sale/display generally. The culture has meant a 'shyness' around asking for condoms, so they do without. and is it really 'abnormal' to someone that has never heard or seen a condom to NOT know how to put it on?
