    Actually I don’t think I did ROD.
I watched Kent a few times and he reminds me of the ‘special’ player at school, who had a bit of talent and thought he didn’t need his teammates.
The greedy faker NEVER passes the ball. He consistently runs into traffic.
Sure he has talent - but no footballing brain. He puts his head down and runs at the opposition with no awareness of his teammates positions.
I was excited before he kicked a ball because he was from Liverpool’s academy. I was disappointed.

My thoughts were what does he play like as I did not know.

For a team that was passing the ball simple, quick and early he was a dire acquisition. No one touch, two touch for that boy. He must be disheartening to play with. I guess the point was he would add complexity in the final third to unlock defences ... He slowed the game down so much with his egocentric play it damaged possibility.

More scrutiny needs to be used in future.

    It sits in the dugout

Spending smartly often means taking chances on a budget........you know as well as I do, that's easy said than done.....we wouldn't be the first club buying a few duds thinking they could do well, had they have done, the haters would be saying that's down to the clubs philosophy!! ......it happens, that's football & that's fans!.

Not sure what that's supposed to prove Wiz, the fact Hull's been fighting relegation most of the season.....We had Tammy (brought in by LJ) last season, doing exactly the same thing..

Again. It is proportional. The club Mr Ashton and Johnson place great emphasis on their thoroughness and scrutiny. Three transfer windows (5?) gone, tens of signings and according to the individual who sanctions the signings they have a lack of leaders ... That goes beyond a few duds.

It is bad decision making after what evidently is a modern lengthy scouting process to make bad decision making less likely.

I would question what the club Captain, former Captain of Preston, Flint etc think of this lack of leaders comment.

Being objective there is a clear question to be asked of those in charge of recruitment.

Not trying to prove anything, I don't need to, this is just an article of an example of what another young loan player did against us .

There have been balls-ups but some bloody good football too.
Even during our 'disastrous' run we still beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-0 and QPR with 10 men

Can not be easy trying to entice the cream of the crop, we are not the likes of Villa or Wolves. Our history of high achievements in top class football dates back to the 70s, unlike the majority of the championship teams that have more recently been in that top flight. To the decent players out there, why would they want to come to us? We can show them facilities and give them promises as much as they like, but what they really want, is to play at the highest level........our history currently shows, there's not much chance of that.

Last season every team in the championship could have used us and Tammy to make a similar point about their team, some you win , some you lose , this season our loans have been poor, I don't think anyone would disagree with that.

That is a completely different point (excuse) to the one you were making earlier in the thread. Now its best give up and lie down, its all hopeless, they won't come here ...

Recently Bournemouth Brighton and Huddersfield have surpassed Bristol City. Not big guns either. Why would decent want go there either ... Football players are motivated by intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Some success, some money, some challenge, some just want to play ...There are always more than decent players out there.

That wasn’t my point at all so twist it all you like... the fact I was making that it’s not easy buying the right player at the right time at the right cost that suits our style that wants to come here....
You picked 3 unlikely clubs, which I don’t think did attract decent players until they got to the premier and now and again the odd club pulls something out of the bag, has a good season and are fortunate to go up.. previous clubs, such as Hull, Cardiff, Reading, Blackpool.. I could go on... wasn’t big signings that took them up!
    It happens, again that’s football..
but carry on twisting as you know better!!

You believe in and see what you want, paint a picture to suit your own faith and circumstances, that's what stats do to all individuals with an active mind.

I try to put up news updates, articles and comments that represent all points of view and hope to keep our forum active and interesting.

I picked three clubs who would fit your criteria of why players would not want to come to BCFC. Players did join those clubs. Nothing to twist.

Players are joining BCFC. Large numbers of players. No twisting. Mr Ashton says the process takes 8-9 months. No twisting again.

Large numbers of players join. Lee Johnson's players. He says he has no leaders. No twisting again.

Three windows he said. He had five. No leaders. No twisting.

It is quite logical to think here to look again at the 8/9 month process being at fault.

It's a large selection of players (with loans) to see if they can fit into our system, if they can fit into LJ's setup of what he wants......
We are not a big club, we are not established in top flight football and we don't have a massive budget. Such clubs are also looking and also scouting and also offering......like I said it's not easy, sometimes you think you have the right players and they might be brilliant in training, but on match day it doesn't come off..Sometimes with football, it just clicks, it works.......Man C have been clicking all season, but they can't click V Liverpool......it happens.
I don't think Ashton & co go all out to get dud players, do you?
