Cheers Dilli

Not bothered about Howard Webb. He has always been fair in games with us, win or lose.

What bothers me more is the 4th official, one Keith Stroud. Here is an extract from a post I made last February after we lost at home to Brighton: -

"I always thought that if something or someone goes against you: -

Once - unlucky
Twice - coincidence
Three times - hmmmmm
Four times - this needs looking into

Therefore, what do the following four matches have in common as well as the fact that we lost and weren't at our best for these games: -

Wednesday 17th August 2011 v. Brighton at home - lost 3 - 1
Saturday 4th February 2012 v. Blackpool at home - lost 3 - 1
Tuesday 6th November 2012 v. Charlton away - lost 5 - 4
Tuesday 19th February 2013 v. Brighton at home - lost 2 - 0

Any ideas?

Let me tell you, a certain person by the name of Keith Stroud. He was the referee in all 4 games.

Overall, he wasn't bad last night other than he refused to make positive decisions at critical moments. There were a few shouts for penalties, in particular a handball in the first half, the foul on Bellers and possibly one on Campbell in the second half.

From where I was sat I couldn't make a judgement either way although the fans in the Canton/Grandstand corner, Bellers and Malky all thought the Bellers incident should have been a pen and possibly a second yellow for the defender.

However, if I was in any sort of authority and if clubs have a say in such matters, I wouldn't want Mr. Stroud anywhere near any future games of ours. I'm not saying he is dishonest but at the least he is a bloody jinx we can well do without."

See what I mean?

Bloody hell, that's not a goo omen. I hope for your sake he gets the flu :D

Good post Blue - some ref's get unwarranted criticism, but then again some bring it on themselves! Howard Webb is a good 'un (Man U games aside! ;)) But Stroud has never been a favourite of mine and can fully appreciate your concerns!

Good luck for the coming season - hope you do well in all your games (apart from two! ;))

Share your enthusiasm UniBrum - always hate close season and can't wait for the football to start! Think you will do well - Pitbull is a class player and Caulker will be a star in your defence! Think Cornelius (have I spelt that right?) will get you a load of goals and can see you surviving comfortably in your first EPL season! Good luck fella in all your games save the two against us! ;)

I remember how I felt before we played City when we went up...and then outplayed them (for the first half!). Even though we got put to the sword, I knew we had arrived and just got a little overawed.

Enjoy the anticipation & build up lads, it will stay with you forever. 2 years on and I still have to pinch myself when I realise where we have come from and the same can be said for you guys (if not done in such a "romantic" fashion, you still did it).

It always helps to remember mid week away games to Carlisle/Grimsby etc. Both our clubs have done brilliantly, lets hope we (fans included) do Wales proud :)

Good post Swim - now let's all get behind Swansea and Cardiff and show the 'English' Premier League that we are here to stay!!! The Premier League is now 10% Welsh - let's keep it that way!!! ;)

Im here too.......read all the crap too.
Decided not to comment even when it was obvious most posters know f all about finance and business but were giving it large.
Back to football now so ok.
Bundesliga already started and Frankfurt went down 1.6! Much more of that and there will be no European tie between CCFC and the locals.

Great to see the "old" guys returning. Some of us have been here all Summer with some "interesting" points of view being expressed. It would have been quicker and easier to build a boxing ring, hand out gloves to those concerned and let them get on with it - Marquis of Queensbury Rules of course!!!!

Now the season is nearly upon us it is great to see most posts returning to normality with good wishes going both ways between us and most Jacks.

We might only have 5% of the population but we have 10% of the Prem League!!!

Compared to Yorkshire who have around 8% of the population but only 5% of the Prem. <whistle> Mind you Yorkshire had 0% of the Prem last season so well done to Hull.

Had my summer break from the board. I did have a look a couple of times. Tough but exciting season ahead. 17th by 1 goal will do me!!

We have had our Summer of fun with some fabulous quotes from certain posters.

We had some not so fabulous quotes from other posters but the season is nearly upon us and we have got some new players in, time to see if we can run with the big boys. <ok>

Good thread Sparkey. Flushed out a number of old hands.

Let's hope we get plenty of football dialogue on here over over the next few months and all you shrinking violets stay posting.

There's quite few more "old hands" out there I reckon who are still just looking in waiting for the season to start, and I bet they've read this thread too - don't be shy guys come on in and ignore the rubbish that sometimes spoils it. <ok>

Still a bit concerned about the two I mentioned in the OP. Haven't seen them since the crap posted on here started to get out of hand.

Come on Bobby and Dave, make it a full house - we need you guys on here!

Very true, much of last week's nonsense is behind us with everyone looking forward to the new season.

Bobby and Dave, you are valued posters on here so return to the fold.<ok>

Season starts in a few days so hope that's it for the bollox that went on over the summer - hopefully visitors to a rival board will only post if they have something constructive to say (or some friendly banter - and that means banter - not some of the crap that have derailed recent threads - hopefully that was mostly down to close season boredom and frustration. Am an optimist but won't be holding my breath! ;) )

Anyway - let battle commence! Good luck for the season Bluebirds and look forward to some healthy, hopefully friendly, discussions.

Its all about survival in the first season for cardiff, A huge task ahead but we proved it can be done, We have a tougher job as we are expected to finish in the top half but as long as we survive ill be happy, we also have to defend our league cup and play in europe so the pressure is on us this season, Its going to be excitement all the way starting with Man united the champions on sunday,,,,,cant wait..
