Essentially we were undone by two world class goals from a world class player who for some reason is playing in the second tier of English football. The start of the second half demonstrated that Fulham can be tested by the right tactics and I was briefly convinced the game could have gone either way. But Mitrovitc's wonderful second goal against the momentum of the game knocked the stuffing out of our comeback. The arrival of the hapless and hopeless Andre Gray didn't help matters TBH. We are really going to miss Johannsen on Tuesday.

I doubt his own mum describes him as world class.

Mitrovic is excellent at this level. World class he ain't!

We'll miss Johansen on the ball, but maybe we'll have more energy in there.
****ing tumble weed blows through the centre of our midfield.

I think the worst thing about today’s performance was that from the moment their second goal went in we looked like we’d accepted defeat. First time this season I’ve seen us roll over like that. And against those mercenary *****!

Dieng, Johansen and Austin all looking like shadows of their former selves from last season..........should we be worried?
No

Dieng made a couple of tremendous saves today.

Johansen against his old team, who knew how to play him.

He will be good against other teams.

Austin will provide goals when he can but Dykes is our no 9.
We need Mac Bonne back...to replace Gray

Exactly this! He needs 2 more players around him to be truly effective, that then means a change in formation.
As for mitrovic being world class, blimey thats a bold statement. I agree with you Col, very good player but world class he aint!

I witnessed johanson have a very good game at Hull. The majority of this season ive been unimpressed with him to be honest. This is the championship, fast paced, full of energy both of which he lacks. He would be class in a midfield 3 but in a 2 hes wasted and easy to play around.

He’s good against the dross and this league is mostly dross. If Field is ever fit again he’d complement him better than Ball, who likeable a bloke as he is was badly out-classed today albeit by a player who cost £25m.

Been out all day and only saw scoreline just before heading for a late lunch........

Shame but then Fulham, Bournemouth and Baggies are so far ahead of the rest of us in this division due to their parachute payments and the value of their squads. Also Sheffield Utd are beginning to find their feet and they have an advantage over the rest as well. As for the rest of the division there's not a lot to be worried about, I'd fancy us to take points off most of them, yes we might concede but we also score, what is that now 26 or so consecutive league games that we've scored in....... I'd like to think that we'll be around 6th come May and remember only 3 sides can go up so 1 club with huge financial clout will be disappointed......

Keep the faith and roll on Tuesday......

Badly miss Field & Wallace & more so Stef missing Field as they played well together last season, Wallace created chances & linked up well with Chair, hope they are back soon

Saw Field training with the others in video clips this week, so hopefully back in couple of weeks. Wallace training as well I think.

Think we need to go back to a back 4 for a bit, defence just too fragile and can't continue to ship this amount of goals every game. Odebajo just looks a complete liability and our centre halves are just getting played through too easily. Perhaps 4-2-3-1 for a few games and see how it goes. Really think Uncle Albert deserves some more game time, but knowing Warburton we'll see Thomas play in midweek !

What would your team be in that set up?

I'm not a fan of it either really Col, i just don't think we can continue to ship 2 or 3 goals every game and compete around the top 6. Warburton doesn't do defensive drills we know that and he ain't gonna start now but surely common sense should prevail. If everyone was fit I'd go this :
Dieng,Odebajo, Dickie, Barbet, Wallace, Johansen, Field, Willock, Chair, Adomah and Dykes. Obviously you could tinker with the personnel , I have Odebajo at right back simply because I'd have Adomah on the wing . But I wouldn't rule out playing Uncle at right back and perhaps Amos in a 3 behind Dykes. Equally Mccallum has impressed me going forward but I just give Wallace the edge defensively. Of course we have no idea how fit these players are coming back from injury, but Ball and Johansen in the middle just looks like 2 geriatrics out for a walk to the co-op.

At the end of the day you've played the 3 best teams in the division all away and been in all of them. Your games from now till end of Nov all look winnable and Bournemouth, Fulham and WBA all have to come to Loftus Road.
