Bidwell is a great example of getting more out of a player who looked lost for most of the season . He has got more forward as a full back in a back four than playing as a “wing back” . Second half against Fulham was as good as I’ve seen him play for us . If we don’t get over run the fullbacks can see more of the ball. I’m a football coach , done my badges and can see that simple thing. That’s why I don’t get the current establishment constantly ignoring something so blatant .

Probably as much to do with the quality of some of the opposition wingers this season, there were some games we were chasing shadows and the unsuitability of our 'wingbacks' were all too evident. If we have seriously ditched the experiment and stick with four at the back maybe Ollie will have turned a corner. I was never happy with his appointment but as things stand I think TF would be loathe to axe him and if results continue to improve there's no point in changing, he may just have repreived himself in time...

Very pleased and very proud of the last three performances. I too had had enough of Olly but I like the look of the team and the desire, passion and fitness.

I just want a team that tries hard and gives excitement now and again and that is what they have done lately.....and importantly scored goals!!

However, as we all know we thought we had cracked ir when we beat the top two a while ago and went unbeaten for 4/5 matches and a month later we were awful with 5/6 defeats. Even yesterday the first 15/20 we couldnt string any passes together and most looked lost to what to do with the ball apart from Eze and particularly Pawel looked awful and then in the 2nd half he was a different player and obviously after his goal he showed what he can really do.

As for Freemans MOM....I dont think so!....possibly our worst player. Pawel or Bidwell for me who is playing very well and making all the right decisions. All the defence did well but as Olly said showed too much respect first half. So, a game of two halves and that sums up QPR and probably always will.

Pluses = Most of our team now is young so the potential/future is good....and they want to play for my team.

Negatives = We have too many players who seem to need confidence. Eze seems to have it and he looks like he has a bright future but we also need one or two who step on the pitch with it.....we also desperately need a goalscorer.

It will be interesting to see how we start the next game....but delighted with the progress of several players..

I still think someone could get more out of them........... ..

I wasn't over the moon at his reappointment and for health reasons wasn't able to watch them at all last season since the Forest game away . However when I saw them earlier this season at Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough I was impressed by the team spirit and tactics. Very often our managers have lost their way a bit when the team have been given a good hiding. Newcastle last season and Forest this. 3-5-2 was an experiment which lasted too long yet in spite of that we have had some notable victories and performances. In spite of a catalogue of injuries and forwards who can't score. In spite of my misgivings Matt Smith has established himself as a decent target man and unlike every other manager we've had since Gerry Francis, youngsters have come through and are establishing themselves in the team. Finally the experiment is over and we are beginning to pay some decent football in spells again. Would we have done better playing a different formation earlier? Possibly. Would we have any more points in the bag? I strongly doubt it.

We wanted a manager to build a team rather than buy one from old scrapped parts bought and sold as antique treasures by a second hand car dealer. At least some of us who said so at the time meant it. That is what he offers for the future Would we go for something a bit more glamorous and successful if we had the money and the freedom to do so. Sure. But however many parallel universes there are, we live in this one. This is reality. And I'm actually quite satisfied with the progress that is being made.

Thought he did very well positionally as he was under orders to fill in to keep a rigid shape. Still in the game and looking at the clock the game plan was to set it up
He got subbed with his team rival coming on before Murray
They contained United but then conceded a bad set piece so it all fell apart
He was none too pleased as he produced three great crosses and when the time came
the manager replaced him

Totally agree as broken record I know but QPR need a man that really cares
I agree with 9s that Ramsey in for Fleming has made a difference
See where we finish and then the club can decide but hopefully the fans will eat some humble pie we need a period of stability.
We need to be the underdogs again not the billy bill balls club we had become
He has persisted in his formation but I still feel our forward players really have been the missing link this season . As I maintain there is nothing wrong at all in our approach play nor it there is our pressing game.
We haven’t got the money to buy a goal machine. We were used to Austin and he was always a hard act to follow
Keep this squad together , keep the passion of Holloway and we will grow

Ned, Robinson, Perch, Mackie, Dieng (keeper), JET and Kakay out of contract this summer. We would probably only want to keep Ned and Robinson, but will have to offer them more than they might be offered by ambitious championship clubs targeting promotion. These clubs might also fancy Freeman, Luongo, Scowen and perhaps Eze ( I could see him sitting in a PL clubs reserves for a few seasons). Pawel might also be of interest to European clubs. Anyone who offers a decent price and a better package than these players are getting now will get them. We don’t have any money.

I don’t think that there is much chance of keeping the squad together, unless we want daft money for those in contract. Keeping Robinson would be a nice statement of intent, especially if we get him to sign a new contract before the window opens.

Sad but true. I cling to the hope that they've been available at the right price in the last window, or two in some cases and nobody has wanted them or in Ned's case he wasn't prepared to take a substantial cut in wages. That is the mark of a really good manager. Improving or at least making us competitive with some of the existing squad and a few new faces. The fear is we opt for safety and bring in a lot of players nearing their retirement from the game on loan. So far so good. Only one aged journeyman signed on loan (or was it a free) in Baptiste last time round and quite a lot of kids who are developing. We know it won't be someone obvious but let's see if our scouting network has been doing its job. 7/10 this season.
 
id fallen asleep before kick off (too many pinots in the evening) so watched the full recording this morning. Didn’t think we were that bad in first half; a little careless - Freeman lost possession more than anyone. Fulham played the ball around nicely, scored 2 nice goals but didn’t threaten as much as I thought they might. Sucker punch from us before half time turned it. Thought we were excellent in the second half. Tighter, more accurate and pressed harder. Pav was everywhere, Ned provided great cover and the full backs were a constant threat.
Thought all handled Mitrovic well; he’d be a real handful on another day.
Was pleased to see Cairney and Sessignon go off, thought they looked most likely to unlock us.
A fair result and with a natural goal scorer in the squad, would have been 3 points. Oh to discover another Bannister.

Robinson says he wants to stay, but also says he's had contact from other clubs..... Haven't seen it mentioned here, and realise its unfashionable to say so, but I think he owes us. Apparently we've been paying his wages since 2014 and apart from a loan spell at Huddersfield, he was injured till 2017. I realise that's not his fault and appreciate he's been our best defender this season, but how about a couple more years Jack?

QPR fightback floors Fulham - Report

QPR continued their March resurgence with a 2-2 draw that could easily have been a win at in-form Fulham on Saturday, despite trailing 2-0 just before half time.

If you’d said post Nottingham Forest debacle that QPR would win two and draw two of their next four, playing superbly at times in the process, and get four points from the impending away trips to Aston Villa and Fulham, they’d have carted you off to the same funny farm they should take Ian Holloway’s tailor to.

Yet here we are, eight points later, scoring five goals and dominating long periods of two away games against two of the league’s better teams.

I agree with all of that N22, but the rumours doing the rounds are that he's going to (sadly) be playing for Fulham next season.
 
Just watched the game in full now. We certainly deserved the draw and great to see Pawel score at last and Luongo yet again. Not sure anyone has mentioned it but that 20 minutes or whatever it was, was the best I remember seeing from Cousins.

Oh dear, this muppet tweeted on Friday that Fulham would thrash us and if they didn't win he would tattoo 'Ian Holloway is my dad' on his arm. He's only gone and done it...
