Squandering chances here. Two in five minutes, either side of half time. If we don't go in for Ivan Toney in January something is wrong. We should have in summer.
Tbh our possession football has just been **** for 4/5 games. We are struggling to put passes together. Just giving away easy possession. The pressure is relentless every game. We were creating chances before as well. Now that's gone too. The fact this is ongoing, the manager has to take some responsibilty.
No pressing, no desire to win. Martial, Rashford, Bruno, McTominay since he's come on, all ****e. And when they do get the ball they're completely lacking in ideas.
Fernandes was utterly ****. Just wildly booting it everywhere. A bloke whose mind was in the world cup. Thank **** we're now at that time, we absolutely had to win.
We've clawed our way to the last game. Thank fck it's over and bar the Villa result we've done just enough to keep ourselves in a good position to kick on for top 4. We have to be better than this when we come back. Have to be!!
It's a decent position for top three or four. Absolutely had to win though, otherwise we were back in the pack chasing top six. Newcastle don't have a great squad but they can top it up in January and don't have European football, which is a massive advantage. I'd say we're better than Spurs and Chelsea though, and Liverpool don't look especially good but I'd expect them to improve in the second half of the season.
Agree with all of that. Can't see Spurs strenghthening either although Kulusevski coming back may improve them. We need to get Varane back and then buy a striker and another mf in January. I don't think we can count on Bruno and Eriksen the whole season. And the likes of Fred and McTominay are not decent alternatives. Need another creative mf. And Ivan Toney.
I can see us going back in for de Jong in January - what a midfield that would give us. Hopefully our recruitment strategy has improved beyond us paying squillions for the 'wonder kid' striker of the upcoming world cup and that we have players in mind already to replace CR. (not typing that well, one hand in a cast)
He’s been sht for a while. He’s part of the midfield problem. Because he sees so much of the ball, when he’s not playing well, we tend to lose our shape. The bad period that Treble mentioned coincides with the period that Antony got injured. We lost something there. But with Garnacho now coming into the fold, it should help us become better when Antony returns. And then there’s, Ronaldo! Oh boy!!
