Thanks North. This blog isn't as depressing as a lot of the posts on here and my mate's summary from the ground (I didn't go). still hurts getting hammered by Michael Jackson's coxless fours though!
Fair play to QPR fans this afternoon - most were still there to the end and seemed to be in good spirits despite the score. Good luck to you for the rest of the season.
To be fair to Valjing, he did say he hoped he was wrong - I don't think any of us can cast doubts on the sincerity or loyalty of your support, VJ. QPAAAGH is conspicuous in his absence post-game (or is 'post-game' too much of an Americanised phrase?) Maybe he choked on his spritzer. I have to say, the rest of the QPR fans still on this thread have, for the most part, impressed me with their graciousness. It's gone some way to undoing the bad impression some of them gave before the match. Well done Go Madge Go, BrixtonR and others. Good luck for the rest of the season. I still think you'll be all right come May.
Captain and Bidley ... I don't know what to say. I'll always have your back. To the genuinely classy QPR fans out there, best of luck with the new season. For the sake of the old rivalry, I hope you stay up this season. As for QPaaagh, thanks for sweeting the experience Sunday. You'll never know how much joy you've brought me.
I'm here guys! You gave us a good thumping and richly deserved the win. But I don't recall ever suggesting that Fulham were a poor team or that we were going to get one over on you. All I said was that Fulham fans tend to be pretentious, prawn sandwich eating, spritzer swilling, Johnnie come latelies whose knowledge of football has typically been gleaned from the sports pages of Tatler magazine. Nothing wrong with that analysis is there?
Well, its an analysis that doesn't fit with any of the regulars on this board, or with most Fulham fans I've come into contact with. I think it was your tone that got up our nose so much. Personally, I've supported Fulham for over 30 years (and there's plenty on here who go back much further than I do) and have never had a prawn sandwich or a spritzer in my life. My matchday choice is more likely to be a pie and cup of tea. It didn't help that you took exception to Dempsey's Revenge who we all know to be a proper fan (and following Fulham since before Clint Dempsey turned up, by the way) with an informed opinion and a willingness to enter into proper discussion about Fulham-related matters. If you were as well informed and not so quick to fall back on derisory prejudices we would probably have had more time for what you had to say. Fair play for coming back on today though.
We were desperately unlucky, just a few missed chances away from winning 7-6. Nothing personal, but Clint Dempsey’s boots look like he’s got two bottle of lucozade selotaped to his feet
Dempsey wears those shoes to hypnotize defenders. Without them, his feet would look like humming bird wings. It's a public service, really. Valderama was one of my favorite players. Even as a fat old guy playing in the MLS, you couldn't miss the genius.
